Re: people with zc's look or if you know alot

kingpinn,

I never really tried to check my times with my mods. I mainly buit the car to be a reliable daily driver with occasional road trips of 5oo miles round trip (home to see the folks). I can say, that it will get up and go. It got up and wlked away from a 99 Civic Ex and on one occasion, my boss's Acura RSX (stock).

It's all good, I was never mad or anything. But it sounds like you have way more on your plate than I do at the moment. No worries bro.

Well depends on the source.....
DOHC ZC [blacktop]----(120hp-138hp)
sohc zc ----(i believe 108?)
sohc vtec zc(125hp, same as a d16z6)
D16a1-(Integra motor that wont work, 110-115hp)

Re: people with zc's look or if you know alot

alright i don't know what everyone is doing wrong..... or what i'm doing right.... i am running 9.3's to 9.5's in the 1/8th which would be 14.53 to 14.84's in the 1/4th. (all motor) 8.8's with a 50 shot.

all i have is below but i do advance my timing a bit.. if i'm running all motor and i also drop my PSI in my tires to 15psi. something that makes the ZC a bit more quicker off the line is a slight "over adjusting" of the valves. just so they're at tight end of factory but just slightly too tight.
also... don't DO NOT use plat. plugs i've used denso's and ngk's they seem to work REALLY well...
one more thing... i have noticed a full (down into the fender area) "cold air intake" gives the zc a bit more get up and go... rather than a short ram air or a filter right on the Throttle body. i make a 3" intake for it. and it NEVER hurts to launch at a lower RPM to get traction... i normally launch at 3000 or slightly under.... so i don't burn them down... i haven't seen many other stock ZC's get this quick well i haven't at all... everyone thinks i have engine work done. but... i don't. hit me up... if you need help with the ZC or other d series.. i'm pretty knowledgable with them or know someone who is :-x my new project for the summer b18a bottem b16 top let's see how much boost i can build it too...... a wasted $6000 in the making i can feel it.
i have a black top ZC

Question question about ecu for zc

Im putting a dohc zc into my 90 civic hb si. I know that my si ecu will work, but i read somewhere that it will only run the zc @ around 100hp and the integra ecu will run it @ 130-135hp. i know the teg ecu is a better go, but does it matter that much?
