Re: Next Generation E90 M3

well, the race winning M3 GTR has a V8, winning races with someting means you can probly win in the street with the same stuff. i.e. Ferrari.

To be real with you. I think the new E90 body style simply looks like shit! It looks almost identical to the 5 Series. I consider the 5 Series more on the luxury end then performance end. The 3 Series always has been the main "sports" car that attracts many BMW enthusiest. So what it will have 400 HP. I think in order to completely love your car you must love every aspect of the car, Body, Interior, and HP. Anybody can make high HP but not everyone can make a beautiful car. Unfortunitly, I'm only able to afford a 1995 M3. Yes it has low miles and I also own a 1992 318IS. So I have the cheap and expensive E36 body. That body style will stand the test of time. People thought my car was a 2000-2002, (Not knowing anything about BMW's obviously) The E46 style is really nice too, but for $35,000 getting you a 50,000 mile car, just doesn't seem worth it. So is $60,000 to $70,000 worth an ugly car just becuase it makes 400HP? Maybe for the rich and for the people that want to go jump on the bandwagon to say they have one first. The photos links posted above are far from what I expected the next generation M3 to be. It's looks stock with some aftermarket BBS wheels. Whoa! Sounds dull to me. I'd rather push my stock 1995 M3 with ODBI to it's limits for a fraction of the price, and it looks good. If not, it wouldn't have been the best selling M3 to date. Yes I'd like to have the I Drive, Yes I'd like to have Navigation and steering wheel controls, but I'm not worried about that stuff when my foot is slamming the gas pedal....Mike

I think that's the 335i, not the M3. There's no gills, no (prominent) quad exhaust, no flared fenders, the front end is the same as the 330i sport, and plus there's no way the M3 would be w/o cladding at this point. There have ben several test mules caught at Nuerburg, but they have all been heavily clad. If history repeats itself, the E90 M3 will be released in 2007 as an '08 model, since there is usually a one year gap between the end of production of the old M and the release of the new M.
