I am just wondering where you are getting your facts because every magazine I have seen has had faster times for the EVO than the M3. Therefore, I don't see how the M3 could win "hands down." It is "possible" that an M3 could win in a straight line but it would at least be close. Anyways, each car is awesome. |

=======EVO VII=============E46 M3
0-60:--------5.0------------------------5.1 0-100:------13.0-----------------------12.3 Vmax:------140------------------------155 (limited) BHP/ton:----200-----------------------219 (As tested by EVO magazine) these are data from a source i trust, though i have seen sub 5 second 0-60 times for both these cars... surprised that EVO VII "only" goes up to 140...... looks like the M3 wins it. anyway, those are the figures. Discuss. |

I think I would rather own the M3, but when it comes down to a track battle stock for stock I think the Evo would win. Now I will say I don't know much about the M3. The Evo has ben honed over several years of rally combat and I think it is a pretty well refined car. Of course, they are in two different classes so it's kind of hard to compair them... Now this is pure speculation, but I would think the BMW engine could put out higher power figures then the Evo when modded, any one agree?
Ok, it's late... I'm rambling... I'll shut up :silly2:

I believe the evo has more room to grow. Because for a turbo car all you pretty much have to do is raise the boost (and all the other stuff that goes with it so it doesn't blow up), but for NA you can only do so much.
But an M3 on forced induction, well....that different then. |

i was just about to point that out...
you have a bit of a limitless sky with the m3, b/c you can get 4-500 hp out of it n/a, then you get to move to a turbo/supercharger... then you get ridiculous... i dont believe that you can put out as much hp from an evo... i've seen what would be considered mild m3s with power that wild evos have... not to knock the evo.. i guess this has to stay to stock cars... |
