Ironic end to the above thread... I wound up pulling the Cadi engine only to find out that the actual engine was a 305. The emissions sticker and all the components "said" 350, but the guy at the machine shop just laughed and point to the tag that said "5.oL" under some grease near where the tranny links up.

not stock or he just nabed a 4 bolt and pulled a 305 and made a block
and i got a 84 and an 87 both with the hei in cap coil neither were stock however the clearence is there but i doubt he stole your block allthough iv eheard of it before though |

From what I understand, the small cap distributers were put in TPI engines due to the plenem length. TBI motors all came with coil in cap
