You must have been building for a long time, as all you seem to post are great models, in such short spaces of time.

Does paint dry faster where you live, as for me it takes days to dry, and yet you have half completed another car, and I'm still woking on my second this year..!! Amazing..!!

Still looks fantastic, and puts my pitiful efforts well to shame..!!

Thanks Mike
I have been building for about 6 years now.
I always have a few project on the go at once, while paint is drying on one the interior or bodykit is being done on another.

Above is another kit I've been working on at for the last 4/6 weeks.

Stunning work! I have been building for about two years now and my work is nowhere near as good as yours.
How did you do the decals?

I'm probably not making myself very popular with this, but I am wondering if such a Marlboro Impreza had ever existed in real life?

I mean, if it has, I have never heard of it before and I apologize for my stupidness...

But if it hasn't, then I can't help but thinking that putting so much effort and talent in an imaginary car project is such a waiste of energy and time!

Don't get me wrong, I think it looks superb like all your other builds, no argument there, but there are so many kits to be built in one's lifetime and we only live for such a short time. Why would you lose your time building non-existing cars?

That is of course my personel opinion, and all people are different. But when I look at my pile of over 600 model car kits that I still need to build, I would never even consider building an imaginary car...

No offense Hiroboy, I still think you are the best modeler I've ever seen

Yeah there was in 2003....

Lebanon Rally. The one Hiroboy is making...well, that one is for fun. Kinda like building a model of a Starship or one of the Gran Turismo cars that only exists in the game.

Re: Marlboro Subaru Impreza STi.

Interesting phantom build Steve - imaginative, clean and beautiful as always. Did you fill in the radiator exhaust on the bonnet? A hell of a concession to sponsor exposure!

P.S. Was the picture at the start of this thread an artists impression of a Marlboro sponsored Subaru after Mitsubishi lost the deal at the end of 2002? The money eventually went to Peugeot but IIRC there was some speculation Prodrive might land it.

Hiroboy is going Subaru-istic. Another great project - even though not 100% real deal. But great execution! I´m looking forward to another stunning finish!

Looking great Steve, I am wondering how will the "stars" look on the side of that Impreza. Right now I am tryeing to imagine what you have in mind because I see lot of different decals then the ones on first chop.
Looking forward to see it done.

It is the creativity and effort that count. It doesnt matter if it is an existing car or imaginary car. Modeling is a hobby as well as art plus personal preference. If one doesnt like how a real car looks, it doesnt harm to build a car that he/she wishes to have instead of just replicating cars that are/were exist.

Art = Creativity + Talent + Effort + Passion. (my own formula)

I will never think that doing something I like is a waste of time and energy. As long as you like and think it is worth it, JUST DO IT!

Painted the wheels whitel gloss.
Started work on the body again, applied a few decals etc.

Changed the design of the decals to include a fine black line on the outline, which I feel is better?

Edit : The roof vent and wing are still loose and not yet glued in place.
