Since you must have missed it in all the information I posted, I'll post this tid-bit again.

Company executives made strong statements about Nintendo's belief that gamers should be able to wirelessly go online and play against each other.

Also, remember that much of the info I posted was announced DURING THE MONTH OF MARCH during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The March issue of a magazine always comes out at the beginning of the month at the latest, though usually sometime in the pervious month.

The March Issue of EGM, which you say you got the info from, would have come out before your 1st post, which was February 16th. You'll notice many of the Nintendo announcements came AFTER that date, DURING the month of March on March 15th at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This is after the March issue of EGM had hit the shelves.

Typically, magazines will SPECULATE and report SPECULATION a bout what the new systems may or may not have. It has always been this way. Nintendo made official announcements on March 15th at the conference, meaning it is not speculation but fact. The company announced some information as to what the system would have. This makes speculation, like EGM's earlier speculation, incorrect and obsolete.

I was surprised that this thread had not corrected the incorrect information after Nintendo announced FACTS as to what the new system would have at the Game Developers Conference. They confirmed for example, that it would have Wi-Fi online capabilities and it would be backwards compatible with Gamecube games. Official announcements from Nintendo, like these, make speculation like in EGM obsolete. Speculation, like in EGM, is just somebody’s best guess. Once an Official announcement (like Nintendo's announcements on March 15th) has been made, speculation, AKA someone’s best guess, becomes a moot point. Why? You no longer need to guess, the announcement has stated the facts.
