Re: Would u go on Steroids?
well from my experience nutrition is the way to go. I put on 15 lbs of muscle mass and decrease my body fat by 5% using nutrional supplements NOT steroids. I'm actually healthier because of it. Good skin and feel great!!

its like somebody else already said, the downsides to using steroids far outweigh the benefits. Personally I don't feel its gonna make a difference what most guys say on this thread coz if you wanna do the roids then you're gonna do it no matter what. My only advice is that you should do as much research on the net as possible about every possible side effect for steroids.
And if you're thinking that professional bodybuilders are all healthy even after years of steroid use then check up on flex wheeler and see what happened to him after years of steroid use. See what he looks like now compared to how he did 10 years ago. as for the guys who say they're making no gains at the gym. Well again do a bit of research. I'm willing to bet its one of two things thats holding you back from gaining muscle. Either you are 1) overtraining your muscles, meaning working the same muscles more than twice a week or doing too many exercuises for that muscle, or 2)you are not going intense enough in your exercises and not switching your workout schedule as often enough. Check out bodybuilding.com, they have a plethora of information on absolutely anything to do with bodybuilding and fitness. Hope i've helped.

Re: Would u go on Steroids?
I've used supplements before, and they were very helpful... up to a point. Once I reached a max bench of about 175-185, I could no longer progress. I used protein shakes, and had a hamburger every day after weight training 4 days of the week for 4 months. In 3 of those months I went from a max bench of about 100 pounds, to a max bench of 175 pounds. Then during that last month of the same routine, I could never get past 175. Then in my senior year it was the same thing. I absolutely could not get past 185 as a max, and I worked out all year. After high school, same thing. Never put up more than 185. Supplements didnt help me get past that. Ive tried everything.
What would really be so bad about taking one or two steroid shots and then quitting? If I was to do that, I would first get a gym membership, that way I could have a guaranteed way to work out once I quit the roids. I wouldnt do it if I knew I wouldnt be able to keep on lifting. But lets say I did the shot... how bad would 1 or 2 be? Once I break my plateau with roids, won't it be easier for me to stay there? And lets say something happened and I couldnt work out and I lost all my muscle mass... wouldnt it be easier for me to break 185 again since I had already done it before? I really want to get bigger and stronger, because Im a very tall guy, and I look weaker than I am. I don't like looking skinny, but it is impossible for me to get any bigger. Why would I not want to take one or two shots?

Supplements are not like a steroid, everyone seems to think that if you take protein adn creatine and other supplements that you should be able to lift more. Supplements will not help you lift more, they supplement your growth not provide it. If you want to be able to bench more and you're hitting a plateau then you obviously need a new workout schedule amongst other things. How long are you resting between sets? how many workouts do you do for chest and triceps? How many days do you workout and are you getting enough sleep. These are the basics to growth and something there must be wrong if you're not making gains. Look at these factors and try and figure out where you're going wrong. oh and being tall shouldn't be the reason why you can't bench more than 185, I'm 6foot and i can bench 308lbs. Personally i busted my plateau by changing my resting period between sets and changing to a workout which is more focused on powerlifting rather than just lean muscle growth. Try bodybuilding.com, i cna't stress how great this site is and how many times its helped me with problems to do with bodybuilding. hope i've helped.

Most people who have responded don't have the knowledge required to use steroids correctly. Listen to the guys who know what they are talking about.
Rick: I guarantee you are doing one of the following wrong: 1) diet, 2) training, 3) rest, 4) sleep. How many calories do you take in a day? If you're skinny like me, it should be over 4000 in order to gain weight. I take in 4800-5000 a day and i've been slowly gaining. Also, hamburgers are not the best post-workout meal. Try a protein shake followed by 1 cup of oats within 30-45 minutes after your workout. Some people prefer simple carbs after a workout, but oats work best for me. Most people who can't gain mass can't because their diet isn't in check. You should be eating 6-7 times a day with quality foods such as: chicken, lean red meat, tuna, salmon, yams, sweet potatoes, oats, whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, flax/fish/olive oil, all veggies, and skim milk (if you don't mind the sugar in it). A good saying is, "muscle is made in the kitchen, not the gym" and it is very true. Overtraining has already been mentioned in this thread, and it is a possibility in why you aren't gaining. Most people shouldn't work a muscle group more than once a week. Rest is needed for muscle growth. Another thing, you need a minimum of 8 hours of sleep a night. Your body repairs itself when you sleep, so you need enough of it. P.S. Bodybuilding.com is a very informative site as long as you stay away from the teen section . Another good site is abcbodybuilding.com, some very educated and intelligent people there.

if you think supplements don't make you stonger your using the wrong stuff. You have to know what your're looking for. My max bench use to be 185. I only weigh 160 and I can now max out at 265. i've never taken a steroid before. The key key is also in how you recover and how train like 04blackvitz said. If anyone is interested in suplements that really work let me know. You be better in the long run and still have the resuts you want!

Re: Would u go on Steroids?
I understand about eating all that stuff, but damn is it hard. I'm not blaming my inability to bench more than 185 on my height (to me 6' is short though) but rather, I was trying to say that I want to make more gains because being tall makes me look weaker than I am.
I increased my bench by 75 pounds in 3 months, and in the following month, I made no gains with the same routine. Then after a couple years it got up to 185, but never further than that. I know it cant be that hard for EVERYONE. and about losing the muscle mass after getting off steroids... I understand that I would not be as strong as I was before. But are you saying that once I lose that muscle mass I would have just as hard of a time breaking 185 again? And what if I did the steroid shots for two months, then quit the shots, but kept working out and eating good? I did a little research on steroids, but have found no information about doing one or two shots then quitting. All the information tends to lean towards the negative long term effects, and focus on how bad it is when you use steroids a lot. Has anybody ever just tried it for a couple months? like two shots? Could it really be that bad for you? (please only answer from personal experience or if you know a website with info about my specific question because I cant find that information.)

Re: Would u go on Steroids?
6'8 190. Right now I can't workout because I have no weights, but what I was doing was this:
I had weight training 4 out of 5 school days. Monday I would bench, work triceps, and forearms. Teusday I would work legs, sitting leg press, standing leg press, calf raises. Wednesday bench, and triceps, and max bench thursday no weights Friday max bench, triceps, leg press, calf raises. I used a lot of protein shakes, drank a lot of milk, and ate a lot of hamburgers. Never changed my routine, but still hit that plateau. Right now I dont have the means to work out, and I won't have for a while. Probably at least until after my birthday in August. I do push ups and sit ups, but that just keeps me toned. I can get kind of cut if I do push ups and sit ups routinely for a couple months, but Im still skinny. I dont consider roids as my only option, I know I need to have time and money to dedicate to working out right and eating right before I can expect to get any bigger. I will wait until I get the chance to work out for at least 3 months before I even think about a steroid shot. Dont get me wrong though I'm not thinking steroids are all good. I would only do it if nothing else works for me once I get the chance to try it again naturally, and that doesnt work.

Re: Would u go on Steroids?
in my responce, i am talking from personal experience, i only did bout 5-6 shots which is like half a cycle, took the pills and worked out hard, drank the protien shakes, ate good, did 5 sets of 5, had a personal trainer. it was all good, but once u stop, u will loose the weight!unless u plan on using it forever and dying at 50 from a hearty attack, i wouldnt do it. you will love it at first, but when u stop u will be miserable, depressed, and u will shrink. the beginning plus is great, but the ending results are shitty. i know at least 5 good friends that were into it bigtime.they would always try to get me to follow them into deisel world!lol finally i gave in and tried it. i got out of it and watched them ruin there lives literally.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and also assume you were doing way too many sets. 9-12 sets should be your goal for your chest. That means no more than 4 exercises with no more than 4 sets of each exercise. Also, what kind of protein were you using? was it mass gainer protein or whey protein? For someone as lean as you and wanting to gain bulk you should use mass gainers which give a hell of a lot of protein adn calories as someone i think already mentioned. Lol, also you say that you never changed your routine. You should change your workout routine around every 6 weeks in order to stimulate muscle growth by using different areas of the muscle with new exercises. You obviously had sooooooo many things that youw ere doing wrong when yuo worked out so thats why you got no results. If you workout properly then i am 100% sure you will get the results you want without the need for steroids. but hey, its your life do what you want. Sorry its such a long reply but i hope this helps.
