Well, I waste my time with domestic small cars because I can buy one, mod it out to be a competitor against most v8's, and have enough cash left over to be able to still afford to pay my insurance every month.

Let's face it, the v8 sports cars kick ass, but they are just too damned expensive. Not only in initial costs but also in insurance. Hell my insurance company won't even insure anyone under 21 for Camaro's, Trans Am's, ect, ect....

Don't get me wrong though. When I graduate someday and have a real job and make real money, the first thing you will see in my driveway is a 2002 Trans Am WS6!!!

Really? What compact domestic is going to be able to run with a V-8. Your Cav surely cannot. Name ONE.

And the 2.2 drag car, its a purpose built straight line racer with an engine that costs more than a Cav.

Oh man the 2.2 drag car is a whole different animal. BTW my cavy is a six cyl. I dont' really like 4 cyl's. And TONS of people have already dropped the 3.1l turbo in their 6 cyl cavy's and are running around 250 HP on stock internals. One guy that I see on the boards has heavily built his motor and is running around 320 HP if I remember correctly. And you have to remember that these cavaliers weigh over 800 lb less than a z28, which is my benchmark v8 vehicle.
Don't get all pissed off. I'm just saying that since I can't afford a z28 I think the cavalier is a great domestic tuner car.

The SRT4 would hand all those car's its ass. stock for stock, any car that would drop a wrx, would hands down be the winner.

hey, but the srt-4 is so much better than the other models of the neon that they can't even be considered the same car. i'll give it that much, but i'm still goin w/ my cavi over the srt-4. in the end cavi's come out ahead.

oh, and a thing that i read about the next generation neon...it's supposed to have the lancer's suspension and powertrain, and it's supposed to be redesigned to look kinda like the lancer too.

The new neon is a lot better than the old ones as far as looks, the new grill and headlights don't look as girly. how much hp does the srt-4 have?

2003 Neon

SE - 132 h/p, 130 lb/ft torque
SXT - 132 h/p, 130 lb/ft torque
R/T - 150 h/p, 135 lb/ft torque
SRT-4 - 215 h/p, 245 lb/ft torque

(see the noticable difference between the srt-4 and the other 3 models???)

How do you figure a GM econo/junk box comes out on top over a car designed to kill just about everything under 30K?
