Re: Odometer Check

interesting. My 01 spyder gt 5 speed is making a high pitched reer reer siren type of noise. It gets worse with speed. Sometimes it there, sometimes its not. Could something like this be my problem? It sounds like its coming from the front passenger side and the car is running fine except for noise.

Re: Odometer Check

may be a bearing, my friend told me my rear right rotor was warped so i took it to the dealership (warranty work for the rotor) and they said it was my bearing, the noise is gone, i may still have to do the rotor though, becuase it looked a little warped to me

but it was a similar squeeky like it was something rotating

It might be the wear indicator. Check your pad and make sure the indicator isnt pushed against the rotor. Also, if this is the case make sure you didnt groove your rotor...i dont think it really makes a difference, other than the fact that there will be a big streak on it. If not then id go with the bearing.

24yrs old, Black 01 GT with 42,800 miles on my car. So far no problems or damage or anything. I personally have put 10,000 miles on it, bought in July with 32,000 on it.

Re: Odometer Check

when i first bought my 'clipse, the front end would squeak and shake violently, even after alighnments and balances. i brought it back to the jaguar dealership, and when they tore it apart, they had found that the hubs were worn. sorta fked up and dangerous. they replaced them under their 3 month warranty.

just a question... the hubs are the piece that the back of the rotors sit against?

Re: Odometer Check

naw, i believe you may be reefering to the backing plate. hubs are the finely honed shafts that bearing ride on. theres a bolt/threads on the end and usually a pin to hold them bad boys on there.

also i forgot to mention my u-joints were replaced as well.
