IMO Good maintenance suggests checking and re-gapping the sparkplugs, cleaning the wires, checking distributor cap/rotor every 30,000 miles.

Thanks for the compliment, although that suit was VERY itchy at the time of the pic. I did have a headache, lotsa people just taking stuff too seriously, looking too deeply into things.

Stayin away is hard, especially when you see the chance(s) to help others in their misfortunes, even more so when you read people snide junior-high-like comments that reference back to yourself.

I'm just sick of bein the "bigger person" and lettin shit slide. If you don't like something I say, tell me, don't go around makin little childish comments like a fuckin 12 year old. I make it known if I don't like someone, and I'd appreciate the same courtesy.

EDIT -

Jet-Lee,
I know plenty about you......You have laid it out there for all to see.
From your writings, you appear to be a very angry, frustrated, in-experienced, in-mature, individual with an attitude, unable to defend your position when questioned by others. For your information, in successful problem solving groups such as we have here, members openly defend their positions and question those of others. This part of the problem solving process is called the 'Conflict Stage', and you seem unable to handle it. You say you have been the "....."bigger person"....." Well, your comments and language speak volumes about the validity of that statement.
SUMMARY: Pathetic

Re: Car stutters momentarily at speed, and then is good again????

Agreed. Well said, Souphound! This should be a board for regular people, but sometimes we find 'bigger' then average a-holes. Jet pretends to be one of the latter. However, all are/should be welcome here, even those with obvious social interaction deficiencies.

The word around here is, depending on the level of maintainence done, including cleaning the engine once in a while, is an average lifetime of 100,000 miles. Meaning some will fail the day they are installed and others will survive for 200K or so. The types of failures are most often related to heat, so an engine in the far north will have plug wires in the 'high' range for lifetime and in the arid southwest in the 'low' range. Everything in between is dependant on weather, materials and engine heat (meaning - 'how do you drive; fast and hot, or slow and cool?').

How exactly can you tell if "fried the wires" like how it has been mentioned in this thread.
