FYI, by Japanese rules, 33.3% = controlling interest, so technically Mazda is under majority control by Ford.

Re: Wheels Car of the Year Award (Australia)

Well....I live in farming country. Toyota Hilux and Nissan Patrol are the industry standard, wannabees drive Isuzu Mu's, Vitara's and Bighorns.

Seriously wanky money drives Dodge Rams and seriously wanky money in a skirt drives Suburbans or,more recently,Territory. There's nothing wrong with them, per se, except the Hilux and the Patrol are less likely to be driven by an overdressed hoe with a cellphone clamped to her ear and one eye on the vanity mirror.

What Decade are you living in?

In the late 80s they had a 33% share, since the end of the 90s its been a full 100%.

As for the Territory making COTY?
I think Oz summed it up pretty well, after reading Wheels for several years its pretty clear they lack any form of objective integrity.

Re: Wheels Car of the Year Award (Australia)

You know, Ford only won that because Holden didn't bring out a new car, we're still on the 2003 SS utes, and the Monaro.
