Since space is a concern, you should look into something better on space than those you were told about. You could go with 2 Directed Audio 10" woofers and only give up about 1.25cu/ft sealed or about 3cu/ft ported on average. You should give them a serious look. Even their Extreme line is very cost effective($95/pair)!

Car audio is a world of pain when it comes to make the right purchase . I think the reaudio would take more place but I will save money on the amplifier, as the re10 are 175 rms(by the way i think I'l go for 2 10") and the directed are 600w for the XS and 300 rms for the normal one. I there a big difference is sound quality and loundess between these?

Of course I will tout DEI and B-stang will tout Adire. Personally, I love DEI(yes, I do sell others too). They seem to fit the bill for most car audio customers. They are very user friendly and best of all, take hardly any space. The Xtreme line is great for the 1st timer but there are some short commings on them. Just like anything, you get what you pay for. I sell the 12" all day long for $45 a piece.

If only I could listen to these... Can someone tell me how for example a RE10" compares to a Directed audio 10" and infinity reference 10" as the infinities are the only one I've heard.

Would there be much difference with the 12"?

thanks again

Re: subs with case for my current amps

Don't get a kicker..it's awesome quality but you want the music for you not for everyone else, jl are good but expensive very true..I would go with your alpine for quality and get 10's but 12's...too much for a hatch and be careful with speakers on ebay it's a little scandolous out there

Re: subs with case for my current amps

First off only the RE12's need bigger boxes (1.75-2.25 cubes sealed) The RE10's only need .75-1 cube sealed. The re series is better the JL w0's and w1v2's ALMOST (meaning right there but not quite) as loud as 10w3v2's.....but better SQ. did I mention they were only 42 a piece shipped until feb. 18? did u call about what's up w/ canada?

No, but I'll give em' a call tomorrow and tell you how much it is. If it's not too high I think I'll give 2 Re10 a try.

Re: subs with case for my current amps

Directed audio...ptshhhh....you think Bstang reccomends anything other than RE? lol. but he is right. Shiva would be the next on the list. $125 and some great SQ. 88.6l for a Q of 6 is what adire reccomends. thats roughly 3.1cuft. and the shiva will MOVE with only minimal wattage. either hte sherwood amp or the sony amp would be optimal. sony would give more wattage but less SQ and im not familure with the sherwood name.

Well, I am not sure but I think DEI is expanding in Canada. Try there sight to see if you can find a dealer. www.directed.com

Yeah, my father proposed to build the box for me if I give him a plan for it. I searched all over the net but I didn't find already made box model for these subs except on re website, but people told me the mesures where wrong. I'd like to go vented but how do I actually calculate the vent lenght? My box would be 20" deep by 12" tall and 3 feet large.

Well, believe me...with your amplifiers you won't have to worry about electrical.

And in all honesty, the truth is...the current amplifiers you have suck. The only HALF decent one is the alpine which puts out hardly any power. Good thing to look into (which seems you already have a grasp of) is RMS power!

My suggestion is look into a pair of RE12's or RE10's even. Sell ALL three of your amps...and then look into ONE Profile Clarus series amplifier. Such as the profile CL600. It will work quite well with a pair of the RE woofers and provide you with more power. (Don't worry...it's not to much for your car )

The profile amps can be had on www.ikesound.com , www.thezeb.com , or new from an ebay store. Stick with the CL line, it's the only worthwhile line to get.

You'll be happy and amazed with that setup!
