i beg to difer on the insurance thing, at least the 1st years of the 4th gens, Im 18 and live in cali (which means high insurance) w/no violations, progressive and allstate gave me quotes of about $950 for a 6 month premium (158 a mo.) on 93 & 94 z28 now the 95 bumped up to $1850 for 6 months (308 a mo.) why, i dont know, probly sumthin 2 do wit it bein ova 10 years old, but shit a 94 z28 aint bad, jus my 2 cents

There is no way an SVT Lightning is cheaper on insurance than your V6...Maybe liability on the lightning and full coverage on your V6. Lightnings are cool but if you're talking about a car with problems, depending on the year lightning you get, you better check those spark plugs REGULARLY. The earlier second gen Lightnings are known to spit plugs and jack the head if you're not careful. I've ridden in a Lightning and they are alot of fun, I'd like to own one, but i'm just saying insurance WONT be cheaper if all things are equal. A LS1 M6 will be cheaper and faster, and get better mileage, and as far as i know be cheaper on insurance...Sounds like a win win to me.
