Re: Some obscure issues here.
I had a similar problem on my Rodeo a few years ago. I personally cleaned the IAC then had the dealer replace that part later after an engine diagnosis. It made no difference in the surging at all.
Look here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=258045 And here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...=258045&page=2 Don't get me wrong, I respect 2eye's opinions and the fact that replacing the IAC solved his problem, but it didn't solve mine. I now believe that it's normal for the Rodeo engine to surge like clockwork when in neutral or park for our year range. Oh, and the off idle hesitation is more noticable to me in the Winter and barely noticed in the Summer. Good Luck, Dale |

Re: Some obscure issues here.
ok, i just read thru this thread *again* and thru your links 95.5 (thanks for those). am i getting this right? you all are concerned with a thing that only happens if you put the gear in N neutral and rev the engine to a steady 2000 rpm? ? ? first: why do you do this? second: why is this a problem?
(i actually think i may have the solution for you all, *but* i've got to narrow down what the complaint is. . .again, so bear with me . . .or humor me. . . .i just want to make sure i *get* it . . . //bc

I like things to work properly. There is no reason for an engines RPM's to fluctuate off-idle like that. I don't like it, I want to fix it. Same with the hesitation. It's annoying. |
