Is it easy as shit to spin a RWD car out in snow.... yes! lol
I know from experience, I have already spun out twice. And we're talking *serious* spin outs, the first time I didn't have snow tires I spun out and hit the curb, cracking the rim in half (thank God that's all that happened). Second time spun out because this old bag just cut into my lane at half the speed I was going at, and of course there was 20 feet of snow on the ground, snow tires seriously saved my butt, but I still fishtailed quite good, I was shaking for about an hour afterward at what such close call I had.

Time to get the Cobra Brakes

I had a couple close calls the other day with ice. Never under estimate an icy hill.

Actually, my dad paid for the Jeep.

I would drive my Camaro in the snow, and plan to, as soon as I get it fixed.

She already had the Jeep when she bought her car, and I was 16 and didn't have crap. I had some money saved up, to help pay for my car, but no, that didn't play out. She didn't even buy it because it was a Mustang or an American car, she bought it because it was a convertible auto. She had like 5K to spend after she got her refund, and she bought the Mustang (which I hold no grudge against because it's a Mustang, I have a grude against it for personal reasons), that she can't even drive all the time. She could have easily bought me a beater Camaro or Mustang, and had money left over, but she decided to buy her Mustang. It didn't even cost the full 5K, it cost like 3K but it screwed up about 2 weeks after she got it, and she had to have the transmission rebuilt or something like that.

Neither of my parents helped me buy my car. My mom loaned me 200, and it took me about 4 months to pay it off. That was before I had a job. Now I might lose my job because the precious Mustang can't drive in snow, that's what pisses me off. I would drive my Camaro in the snow, and plan on doing it. I see no need for me to lose my job because mom is squeemish about snow.

Re: Honestly, how bad would this Mustang be in the snow?

It took me a long time to find a job. I've been looking since October, and I just got a job a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Honestly, how bad would this Mustang be in the snow?

I'd say it depends on the route you take to work.... if it's not really hilly or winding you'll be fine in the Mustang. I took my 5spd V6 around some Ohio back roads with a pretty decent snow covering the other day, and I was fine. Fishtailed once or twice, but hey, that's something you have to learn how to deal with in a RWD car.

And if your city's public service department is worth a damn, the roads should be plowed and salted within a day of snowfall, unless you live in a really cold area. It's been snowing for the past few days here in Ohio, and I've had no problems getting places because the roads are clear.

I don't want to drive the Mustang because it's pink, you're right at that. Me driving the Mustang isn't the subject at hand, I don't want to, and I'm not allowed to either. I want her to drive it so that I can drive the Jeep.

Re: Honestly, how bad would this Mustang be in the snow?

If you have good snow tires you should be fine as long as you're careful.

Without snow tires you could be an expert driver and you will still either:

A. Smack the curb and break something
B: Smack into another car, and break both cars

Snow tires and a good 200lbs worth of salt bags is the key.

Re: Honestly, how bad would this Mustang be in the snow?

I had the best thing happen yesterday, it snowed just about a blizzard yesterday. The salt trucks ran out of salt, and the roads were horrible. She told me I could take the Jeep to work, but if I wrecked it, I would have to sell my car to make up for it. I drove the Jeep to work anyway, and I didn't even wreck. I think that my neighbor in the BMW scratched his car on the guardrail that leads into our driveway. There's a green scratch, and it could either be mine or his from the color, and I checked the Jeep today, and it's clean. I drove in weather she won't even drive in herself, and she didn't even give me any crap for driving today.

I guess it's just a girl thing about being scared with driving in the snow. All of the girls and women that I work with are scared to death to drive in the snow.
