the deals are fine. one kid tried cheating earlier in the year and 3 of my friends that were playing kicked his ass. plus all these guys are cool and wouldn't cheat. i just got the shit end of the stick on this hand

yeah man, your friends are cheating you for your 5 bucks. And hey man, how the hell can a good hand lose to a crappy hand? WTF? Thats like.. impossible right? Unless you just dont know the rules and they tell you a pair is better than a royal flush, and sorry buddy you lose your 5 bucks. How else can you lose a good hand to a crappy one?
and back to you rollar, you say you are conservative, so I assume you dont do a whole lot of big bets. You only bet when you think you will win right? so you fold a lot. So the only winning hands you are concerned with are the ones that beat you. Do you ever look at what hands your friends lose with, and what they lose to? I bet if you paid more attention you would realize that you cant just make one bet, and get pissed off and break shit. If I was your friend, and you acted like that all the time, I'd be like.. fuck it.. hes ungreatful for the money he wins and he has no respect for the game... fuck him, I dont wanna gamble with him anymore. Which may lead to them cheating you depending on their moral compasses. Just kinda... grow up. If you arent willing to lose your money on what is called a GAMBLE, then dont GAMBLE your money.

dude...i didn't go all in by myself...i bet a decent amount and got raised to all in. seeing as how it was a hell of a hand, i went for it and lost. and compared to the rest of my friends i'm one of the calmer ones. several chairs have been thrown down the hall and a microwave even went out the window one time (that was slightly alcohol induced, but that's neither here nor there)

I disagree... I'd keep a A-7 just to see the flop. I wouldnt throw it away right away

I've gotten full houses from hands like that, once right off the flop too

And if you're playing home games with less than 6 people you can win alot of hands with just a high pair

obviously 1 pair isnt that good... I didnt say it'll win all the time. But sometimes nobody has anything and 1 pair wins it

Thats why you have to know when to fold, if you only have 1 pair and theres good cards on the table and people are betting like crazy, you have to read them. One pair aint shit alot of the time, so you have to know when to fold
