I definitely wouldn't try my luck against anything that sounded like that...

What Slowprocess meant is that kris must really know his way around cars if he thinks all V8's with open exhausts have the loping sound

Re: My "sleeper" vid

Well, he has a civic. All V8s have that "intimidating sound" to civic owners.

Re: My "sleeper" vid

Okay. Well, I just think it's kind of rude how you pretty much disrespected the way SlowProcesses truck sounds. It takes more than open headers to have that sound. But yeah..don't mind what he said, SlowProcess..your truck sounds bad as all hell.

Re: Re: My "sleeper" vid

Rude? Wow, you live a sheltered life, if you think that was rude.

In my opinon. It doesnt look like a sleeper nor does it sound like one.

But I dont pay that much attention to people who run around here with an open exhaust, rather it be a domestic, or import. So yeah, to me it sounds like pretty much every other Joe around here, who drives a beafed up v8. Is that really a problem for you? Is that really rude of me?

Personally I think he was being sarcastic about the whole "Sleeper" thing. The cowl induction style hood would be the first tip off

And it's the internet people.... Everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

Re: My "sleeper" vid

Wow, this corner of AF sure has changed in the past year. Before it really didnt matter what you drove. Nowdays it seems it is full of make and model bashing. Whether blatent, or not, it's kind of ridiculous, with the you drive a civic, so you must be a poor, slow, ricer, wanabe, whatever. I enjoy working on cars, whether it be a domestic, import, four cylinder, six, or eight. I am sure there are the ignorant civic owners who post in here as well, but this is what I have seen in this thread alone. Again, this is my OPINION, if it is rude, I deeply apologize. Anyways, I am done with this thread.

Thanks alot for the replies, guys. I was being sarcastic on it being a "sleeper" with the cutouts open. It has a really nice lope at idle, and sounds nothing like a new model truck should sound. As far as looks, they can be rather deceiving. Alot of stock motor trucks have the cowl hoods, exterior accessories on these trucks. These trucks are pretty popular with the show truck crowd, and you see several out there that have similar mods as me. My interior gives the truck away a little more, because of my Gauge pod down the pillar, my racing seats, and my racing harnesses. I really do appreciate the remarks on it sounding mean. That's the sound I was going for with the cutouts being open.

Kris's remarks, as Chevydrummer76 stated, don't bother me at all. He assumes I ride around with open exhaust, like every other "joe" around him, which is completely false. I do have the electric cutouts behind my headers. In town and other places, I run my exhaust through the two magnaflows, so I don't make alot of noise at all. It just sounds like a truck with a nice "factory" exhaust. The magnaflows are straight through mufflers, and don't have the louder sound of, say, a Flowmaster. I wanted it to sound nice, but not give away anything done to the truck. I bought the cutouts to play with the local Rice here. They are either blaring music or they have the muffler you can stick your head in on their stock cars. They rev at me at a light, and I open the cutouts, and return the rev. They usually don't want any then.

Dampachi was right though. It does take more than open exhaust to sound like that at idle. Most vehicles you see with open exhaust won't have that sound, unless they have a pretty nice size cam on it. I really love the sound of a good cam lope!!!!!
I'm glad "most" of you guys enjoyed it though. I'll get some action vids up soon, so stay tuned!!!!

wow that sounds like a freaking lumpy ass cam you got there, it idles just like the older carburated modded 350's you see in camaros or other gm cars. however it would've nice if you gave it a nice rev. that would sure scare the neighbors.
