I'm using the original hinges. I am not using the shocks, i have it held open now with a piece of wood. I'm looking for an alternative though. I heard on 3si that there should be a set coming out soon made specifically for CF hoods. I had to place 3 washers between the back of the hood and the hinge to raise the hood flush with the side fenders. Other then that it fits good. I'm gonna try to get the hood fixed where the clear coat is missing. If it doesn't work out i'll get it painted. I really like the CF look though. I thought it wouldn't look too great on a red car but it really does. I'll post pics next week. I didn't have my camera at home to take pics this weekend.

It was really easy to put on. I had to drill some holes underneath it though to hold the clips for the washer squirters and stuff. Aside from that, it fits pretty well. I also put som washers between the hood and the hinges to range it up to the right height. I haven't fixed it yet. I am going to talk to the guy who painted my del sol. I think it can be clear coated, wetsanded a little, then buffed to look almost as good as new. I painted the hood blisters satin black then cleared them to make them glossy. Thanks for the good deal. Good luck w/ your hood and definitely take some pics. - Charlie
