Great colors!!! If I were you, I would replace those tires with some lo profile Pegasus tires or some Revell tuner tires. Those would be better suited to such a small car IMHO.

I want to match the prototype pretty closely because I think it's awesome, so I've been hunting stretchwall tires and now waiting for the Aoshima release. The tires on there are just filling int until then.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone, this is just a straightforward build so I can practice painting. My interior will be all airbrush, too, so I can try to increase my skill set. I need something like this with specific goas, so I can force myself to be a better modeler.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Paint practice: Honda Fit.

Sweet car! Love the Fit. The color is awesome also! Cobra Colors has some really sweet colors! I have been looking for some Honda Imola Orange Mica for a while and this color is real close! Have you ever used Gunze Sangyo retarder? I'm waiting on an order of those to airbrush several cars i have and been wondering how big is the difference between just airbrushing the paint and using retarder mixed in it. Well good luck building it! I cant wait to see it completed! What are your plans for the Interior?

Re: Paint practice: Honda Fit.

Retarder slows the drying process in order to allow more time for the paint to smooth out.

Thanks Tonio! Can't wait to use it!

Will: Did that paint come already thinned or did you thin it down yourself?

CC is pre thinned (maybe reduced) automotive lacquer. Sprays nicely and has an outstanding finish. It's all I use on my cars.

Re: Paint practice: Honda Fit.

Looking good Will!
The color combo will look sweet. That orange pearl should look amazing after some clear and polishing.

CobraColors products are awesome! I've had nothing but success using them. If you follow the directions on the site you are almost guaranteed one heck of a good paintjob.

Just a little tip: After taping your separation line and before spraying the black, airbrush the seam lightly with some clear. It will make for a clean separation line when removing the tape with no bleeding.

Re: Paint practice: Honda Fit.

That actually looks pretty funky with the orange to white fade. I'm sure it will look even better with the black on top. So what kind of black are you going to use now, CC?

Re: Paint practice: Honda Fit.

Solid metal axles aren't all bad.

Tamiya paint needs to be thinned before use in airbrush. It seemed milky to me, but I was wrong. Interior:

I like doing stuff like putting glass in and making it look close to how it will its done. So this is that:

Re: Paint practice: Honda Fit.

Wicked looking Fit Willimo (they are called a Jazz here. Don't ask me why) The paint scheme is awsome and the rims look mean as. Nice CR-X in the background too, I can't wait to see the progress on that aswell.

Look forward to seeing the black applied, just a shame we can't get CC paint in the UK.
