Re: How To Restore Lost Power...No BS

Actually the mass air flow sensor determines how much air is going into the engine and how much gas to give the engine accordingly. It DOES make a huge difference. Just try it. there is like a hundred places that sell them. they claim on newer vehicles you get from 11-33 hp which is over what i would agree with. but with older vehicles it can make a huge difference. Just Try it

Humor me.......

Send me a link to this MAF. The one you got, or a pic might even work. At this point, you aren't backing up your claim to the power you gained. Because I think that you can't.

I don't wanna fight, I am not that way. But I do call BS when I see it.

Not wanting to get into the middle of a flame war,

But I can see it.... I've dropped a second off of my strip car just by jetting the carb correctly... On these cars the computer relies on the MAF to tell it how much air is getting in... so it can adjust the fuel mixture and timing(that's how computer chips make a difference). If the original MAF was screwed up & not working properly.. then a new one could make a big difference. More than just upgrading a properly functioning MAF.

Now.... I agree that the dyno numbers are fishy & would also like to see a before & after dyno sheet. Does anybody know what a stock 3.1GA will run in the 1/4??? I have a feeling his "before" times are slower than stock.

But I can't discount the time drop just because of it. A rare occurrance that will probably only work situations where there is a seroiusly F'd up MAF, but possible.

Just for example... say a stock GA runs 15.0 in the 1/4... MAF goes bad causing it to run a 16.0.... once you replace the MAF, you'll be running back to the stock number again. One second is almost inpossible to tell by "feeling" so he probably never felt the car get slower, then ran it with the bad MAF... assumes that's the correct stock time... and boom.. here we are.

Just my
