Re: Tiburons and Supercharging

humm. ok. the octane level you use depends on what your trying to do. the higher the octane the harder it is to spark in whe quench area. thats why people use diffrent plugs and wires when useing turbos. lower octane fuel has a tendency to ingnite faster before reaching the quench area durring the timing cycle. (i dont know specificly what the 4 stroke cycle looks like in the tib) giving more knock or detination. so higher octane gas is nessissary. as for your engine going Tits up. your ecu and knock sensors as well as cas's will know whats going on and pull timming advance so that dosn't happen. thats were the term "tuning" comes in.

as for swaping, keep the i-4 cvvt it will prove better reliableity and gas milage. i would though be intrested in seeing somone buy the new Tuson interactive toqure mangment AWD system with electronic stebility controle and install it on their tib. they should be a dirrect bolt. i think its a matter of time before hyundai comes out with a Elantra awd. sence the tuson is on the unibody from the elantra.
