Re: 2.3L 1V 4cyl 88hp -- all stock

i have decided what i want to do
i am gonna replace the following parts

weather stripping
fuel injectors
fuel pump
fuel line/filter
header
cat
cat back
suspension
air intake

i figure all this stuff will cost around 2k$ and am gonna invest in all this over the course of a year or 2.

i'd like to keep some fuel economy and am wary about blowing up the car, so i am gonna go w some low level stuff. like i'll be getting the 110lph fuel pump, not the 255lph, 30lbs infectors, the fuel line i am replacing bc i feel that my current line is a bit defective as it has a slight leak due to the fact that it is the stock slide on and not a screw on version.

the headers are a must, as is the cat--mine is on its last leg--the cat back system is to finish the package. i think this is gonna be one of the first thing i work on since i need my car to commute and to commute i need to pass emmissions.

the suspension i NEED to upgrade/replace bc the car feels more like a boat in rough waters than a "fine american made automobile."

i am getting the injectors, headers from forced4.com, the suspension from steeda.com--i am leaning toward the 3 level replacement kit, although i am gonna contact the ford dealer about which parts i NEED to replace and more than likely save money. the cat and cat back system i am still shopping around for. the weather stripping is a part of regular maintenance and is also from steeda bc they have the best price.

so far as the air intake goes i have yet to find one that i like. i am looking for a cold air but my car does not have a mass air meter and i do not wanna put money in on adding one. actually i am thinking of building my own using a K&N filter and some tubing to the front of the car to get the full on air intake of freeway traffic. if any one has built their own intake i would appreciate some tips.

also here is the order i am gonna replace the stuff in, first, the weather stripping and air intake; second, the exhaust ; third, injectors; fourth, the fuel line; fifth, the fuel pump, and at the end the most expensive part is the suspension. if you guys have feedback on the order just reply and tell me what would be better and why.

i have also looked into getting a 5.0 engine and from the local retailers and online it would cost much more to get the engine plus the parts i need to replace in order to install it and the repairs the car needs anyway so that idea is out the window.
