evo 3 16G? how much would that be? like 400 bucks? and how much would a evo 8 16G cost? cause i'd rather save the extra money and get a waaaay better turbo.

Thanks for the support, alteast someone is going for the muscle. Ya before it had just a plain jane small block, but since then i have swapped in a 396 big block that is bored .030" over and that has larger valves. It has an edelbrock rpm airgap intake and some hooker 2 inch primary header leading into a 3 1/2 inch collector. In the drag calculator (which gives you a rough estimate of your et) it is suppose to run a 11.2 1/4 mile. So if lows 11's are quick, then yes.

Re: 300zxTT skirmish with Panda, 1st Gen RX7 gives up

I hope you DO know that the Evo VIII turbo setup is reverse when compared to DSM's, so it wont work anyways. A ported Evo III 16G is rated for up to 400WHP(350whp more practical for the street) and is also comparable to the turbo on the Evo VIII, and the next step up would be an 18G, then 20G, and then the TD05 family. And no, the Evo III is the only one that i can put on my car, so nothing i can do about that eh? and it is $600...not $400. But hey...its between the panda and the nova, I'm just along for the ride and some filming.

my boss sold his big 16G for only 250 bucks to my friend who sold it to someone else for 400 bucks. soooooo 600 dollars is alittle bit high for me to see. i never knew they could actually sell for that high in the streets.

also aren't the turbine housing for the 16G-20G's uses the TD05 housing? cause thats what i see on the turbine housing when i look at them. unless they are hybrids, then i would see a TD05-20G turbo when they're suppose to be TD06 turbine section.

but hey what do i know? i'm a nissan guy, DSM is no my field. i only know the general things about them.

Re: 300zxTT skirmish with Panda, 1st Gen RX7 gives up

lol my bad tho i was prolly on crack or something. TD...05 for 14B, 16G, and some 18G's. 20G's and such are typically TD06. but yea they stick the 20G wheel in the TD05 family and call it a sleeper 16G..but anyways; Im getting my turbo brand new, and not gonna get a used one. $600 is extremely low for a Evo III 16G turbo that is ported with the 34mm flapper in it. Its pretty much a steal for the potential that the Evo III has. Cause it has the III in it, ppl think that the VIII is so much better cause its a higher number. Well either way im still debating between the E316G and the 18G, which flows only 50cfm more than the E316G and is around the same price.

btw I love your car Tat...turboed 240's are awsome. RWD too...mmmm. Kinda random, lol.

thanks for the compliment. i'm actually thinkin about putting my car up on sig, but i'm just afraid that the wrong people will know how it looks and go after it.

but anyways, the reason why i love the EVO 8's 16G is becasue of its response time. the response time on my friends EVO 8 is insane. 5th gear cruising at 75mph at 10% throttle. just roll on the throttle down to 20% in just a second, you hit 19 psi from 5 inches of hg. insane. my friend's STi needs to floor it in 5th for like 3 seconds before he hits 16 psi. no comparison. also i've sat in a few 16G powered DSM, and they're turbo i no where near as responsive as the one on the EVO 8. so yes it is a better turbo, but not becasue its from a higher number

TatII...Evo III 16G's are way different than regular 16G's...and the reason why Evo III's have such great response is because of the lightened larger comressor wheel. I need to go for another ride in an Evo...cause the response was remarkably similar from the GST with the E316G that had it at 19psi to the Evo VIII's response with its 16G. Either way, Evo VIII's turbo wont work for me, and I'm not willing to step into the TD06 family without the proper support and a few internals at least. So Evo III it is...however much you might not like it , it should be good enough for a quick grocery getter. And trust me, if the Evo VIII turbo could bolt onto my car, it would be in the plans .

ANYWAYS...Albert....bring...it...ONNNNNNNNNNN! Nooo...I really just wanna see the beast in action. Twould be quite a sight to behold - the Two-Ton Tilly getting the Z-shaft from two directions...classic.

Golleeeee sounds like lotsa fun for me and my toy. We get kinda bored setting around here waiting for someone to play with. All I need to know is how bad Mr. Two-Ton Tilly wants to be beat, that way I'll know what toy to bring. I'll supply the toilet paper he'll need after getting Z-shaft. I need to know what size T-shirt Mr. JohnnyBoy wares. I have a special T-shirt I give out when I race.
