Re: Ugh, that doesn't sound right
I'm sure you can find someone who's on the boards who lives somewhat close to you to help you out with mpfi... honestly, bro, you're gonna get ripped off big time if you pay that "custom shop" that much to do it.

Re: Ugh, that doesn't sound right
Oh, I'm not going to do that. That price is absolutely ridiculous, it should only take 2-3 hours. I'm going to try a different shop around here and see if they can do it.

Re: Ugh, that doesn't sound right
No I'm not doing it myself, if it weren't for the cutting/splicing/rewiring the ECU I would try it, but I don't want to get into that.

bah, i had no engine knowledge before i started out. i learned as stuff broke, though, so there wasn't a whole lot that could go wrong. the part i was removing was, generally, broken.
just make sure you have an adequate supply of tools. boxed and opened end wrenches, a breaker bar, (i dunno if you need one for THIS application or not) a socket set with at least a 3/8 and a 1/4" drive (i always like having the 1/2" drive available for big stuff) long extentions, short extentions, a large pry-screwdrive... you know, the kind that you'll never in your lifetime find a practical application for as a screwdrive. the kind that's obviously meant to either hit someone with or pry something up with. etc etc etc. other than that engine work is just a simple matter of 1. not dropping bolts/nuts/screws in the grass and losing them, and 2. remembering where all your parts go as you're putting them back together. |

Re: Ugh, that doesn't sound right
600 daym!!!
i'd do it for 150.00 which includes the wiring....but you're 2000 miles away...lol. If you want...I'll charge you $50 dollars to make the harness for you so that it is plug and play...just ship me out a dx and si harness.
