It's the RM 1993 Mustang Cobra kit, apparently rare and hard to find. The owner of the car had the kit in his closet.
That is a 67 Mustang in the background, good eye! This car doesn't have an air filter. Flowing about 3000-4000 CFM, with a 76mm turbo, a filter would be useless; not only that, it would probably get sucked in to the engine. This car has about 1000 RWP, runs low 9's in the quarter mile, and is streetable but rarely driven on the street. Most drag cars that fast don't use air filters. About the piping....The big box on top of the engine is a Vortec Igloo liquid-cooled intercooler. The pipe across the top of the engine is the car's intake. The air enters the turbo from the back (where the filter would be if he used one), where the brake booster should be (yeah, I had to sacrifice that...) and the pipe that runs from the turbo to the undercarraige is the exhaust. I hope that clears some stuff up...? |

Re: COMPLETED 90 Mustang Drag Car
Hey,
Nice detail. I always like pro-street type drag cars. Nice work all around! Keep up the great work. Frank X. |
