the only thing the crx is better then the hatch in is autocross; shorter wheelbase.

He already has the Lancer. I wouldn't get another car. He can use that money to modify his car.

ya but if he sold his lancer he would have quite a bit of money to make a crx very fast. Lets say he gets 8000 for his lancer. He could buy a crx in good condition and still have over 5000 dollars to build it.

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

hell, for 5 or 6k he could buy a CRX or hatch with a B16 already in it (prbably depends on where u live) ...and still have money left to build further... im sure a person could get more than 8k for a lancer OZ.... well...maybe not i dunno.....

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

Thats still not a reason for someone to get rid of a new car for an older car. I mean if it was a muscle car..than thats a different story.

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

well muscle cars can go fast in a straight line, old honda's are light and can be made to turn real good

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

I know that there's a lot you CAN do with a lancer, but in the end, is it going to feel like I accomplished what I want without putting my life savings into it? I know a CRX is lighter and has tons of possiblilities, when the weight of my lancer is around 2800 :-\

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

and plus, I wouldn't be selling the lancer, just wondering if buying the crx and working with it would be a good idea becasue even though I would be buying another car, the money will go a lot furthur on the CRX from what I'm seeing, and I would also have the lancer to drive if in the process of something big, like might have the CRX not running, but still have the lancer to drive

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

Me personally... I'd rather get a new car with a warrenty... I guess I'm just getting tired of always fixing my 15 year old honda... its one friggen thing after another... I love it when it runs... but damn is it a pain in the ass!

Re: Crx VS. Lancer OZ

it all really depends on where you want to spend you money...are you planning on buying a CRX too? What you should do is figure out which car you want to work on, and then have the other car as your daily driver.

Any car can get a good deal of upgrades from bolt-ons, etc. If i were you, i'd keep the lancer as my daily driver. It's already pretty quick, plus if you bought it new you still have warranty so you don't really wanna mess with the engine parts, etc, anway or else it'd void the warranty in case something goes wrong or breaks.

The CRX will be easier to work on, since there's plenty of parts available (cheap if you buy them from someone else or eBay), lots and lots of write-ups, DIY, and how-tos (that's what this forum is about pretty much).
