we will be building kits when some of the owners you speak of express this sort of desire you mentioned.before i started driving this car it seemed there was alot of talk and enthusiasm for this sort of thing...time will tell. good luck ojn your project

Keep me posted as I have some guys on other sites wanting to make the switch. From your video's you need some skin's on the rear. Watching it just inspired me to get my ass in gear and finish mine. Other than the turbo's what did you do to the engine. I've been told by a few that a VG30DETT will smoke a VH45DETT. PLEASE SET THE RECORD STRIGHT. Give some facts for some support in this.

Re: 450zxtt-a quick video of a q45 power z in motion...

How much Power in those just as is...? 340HP? Holy-shit! I'd be happy just with the NA engine... lost, ZGringo... PM on more details... I'm starting to hear these engines are cheap (cheaper anyway) to come by? How, what, where, and why (who???) did you TT 'em? I'm QUITE interested!!!! Awesome vid...

George, just so you know I've personally got to be there when some dyno tests were being run on the VH engines and with just a good exhaust and intake well make in excess of 400HP. Now you put a supercharger or a couple of turbo's on one and it's very easy to make 600HP and that is with a stock engine. Try that little trick with a VG and see what it will cost. I'm not putting down the VG, but the amount of money it takes to build one like my 10's street car is in excess of $10,000. My engine has almost $16,000 in it, and thats just for goodies. Now the VH engines well be using for the record run cost $18,000 total, for engine, goodies and what-knots, and makes 1000HP more than my VG30 engines. The one I'll be using in my street car well have a lower boost and well still make 400HP more than my full race car with a VG engine. Personally if I was a owner of a N/A and thinking of upgrading, I would consider a VH engine. If I was a TT owner I'd leave it as is till I wanted to up grade, then consider strongly using a VH engine.
There's many things in favor of a VH swap.
100lbs lighter, 1.5 liters bigger, higher base HP, still in production and if you choose to go all the way, well have a car that well smoke anything with wheels and then some. Figures don't lie.
This is why I want Mr. Lose to inform all just what he has in his engine. I'll bet he has a super exhaust, good intake and dual turbo's, and tons of torque and HP by the looks of his video. The biggest problem I see for this swap is tires. The'll wear out much quicker. There's a guy in Denver with a Z31 and VHTT power that turns in the mid 9's with street tires. Trying to get somemore info and pic's and get him on this site.

Update:

On the site HybredZ Lost says his engine is stock except for the turbo's. I think the results are very good.

Quote from Lost:
the engine is straight out of a 1993 q45,stock.the turbos currently on the car are midsize ballbearing units prepared by reed partridge of turbo specialties,in alabama.i will post some dyno figures soon.thanks for your interest.

OK if you insist. Hi stupid.

It's used in alot of things, but the mostly in Infiniti's, the Q45 and such. Do alittle home work and report back to us and tell us what you found out. Then I'll remove the stupid remark.

VH huh, how much would you say it would cost to swap a VH into my N/A? Not including labor. I will seriously consider this if the engine is under 3K.

Re: 450zxtt-a quick video of a q45 power z in motion...

I am considering my dads Titan truck V8....... He wont let me pop the hood with my tape measure and tools in hand. I am SURE it can fit in my Z, I will give him a slightly used VG30DE in trade.
