Why can't you get your wife a nicer car else than a Toyota Tercel...(How about an Echo?) If you can afford so many cars...

She and I sat down with the checkbook and figured out what we could afford when we went car shopping for her. At the time we could have gone as high as $12k, but she went straight for the Tercel. She had one before, this one was optioned just how she wanted it, and its just what she picked. I love my wife because she is very diligent about what she needs versus what she doesn't need. She wanted power steering, reliability, A/C, and 30+ MPG and those were he only qualifications. She found it in a $5000 car.

Its also deceiving on my side... All of those cars you see for me were dirt cheap. The SS was my college graduation gift from mom and dad so it is free. The Bimmer was my "good" reliable transportation car so I spent a fair market price on it. The rest were all purchased for dirt cheap, ranging from the cheapest (Scout = free) to the next up (bonneville = $300) up to the most expensive (wagon = don't ask me it was too much )

Although it may appear unbalanced, she spends her money on the electronics I'm happy with my cell phone and a stereo, she needs the MP3 players, LCD TVs, laptops, and gadgets.

I trade cars like commodities. Way back when I bought a few cars for way below their market value. We've all seen them. They crop up and you buy them just because they're cheap. I usually drive them until I get bored or someone makes me an offer that I can't refuse and I sell it. I usually make some money, but sometimes I just break even. So far I haven't lost any money thank goodness, but its just a matter of finding the screaming deals. Its kinda like trading in your car and getting something else you want for free. Need money? Drop down to only 4 cars. Have money and come across a cheapie? Buy it for a rainy day. In fact, this afternoon, I'm headed out to San Bernadino to look at a 71 Camaro RS. Its basically a rolling body; no interior, no motor, no tranny. That's exactly what I need for a race project I want to do, but because the car is "incomplete" its undesirable and the owner knows it... hence his low asking price. I have a 454 in the garage. For about $4000 I can build it myself into a 750 hp monster, drop it in place with a built TH400, four-link the rear, put racing seats in it, paint it in the garage, and sell it to a drag racer for $10,000.

Its what I do

Nice GT4! I'm guessing from the engine bay, that it once was white?

Anyway, being at work, I don't have any pics of my Civic to share, might put some up when I get home, but it's really nothing special. My next car (after I sell the Civic in the next week or two, will be, however )

My 1991 Chevy S10, sure nothing special, but it's my first, and I love it.
