Re: I hate working in the snow
There are some advantages to working in the snow.
If you lift your car on jackstands, its easy to slide underneath it. Hardpacked icy snow is great for sliding underneath, sliding a transmission out, etc. The glare of sunlight off snow really illuminates the underside of the car. If you spill some gasoline on the snow its easy to clean up by throwing in a match. No insects. |

Re: I hate working in the snow
I feel your pain, MagicRat.
Ever swapped out a tranny in driveway with a snowbank as your only cover from the elements? Wait... it looks like you have... you know the drag coefficient of hard pack . I know a few of us have been fortunate enough to experience that.... It's real hard to find help to do something like that isn't it? Just take comfort in the knowledge that it's only a wheel bearing, and not an engine rebuild under the stars in a blizzard. If I lived nearby I'd give you a hand... but I'm not... and I have a starter to swap out on my ride tomorrow. Yup, you guessed it. In the snow, on my back, in my driveway

Re: I hate working in the snow
That's pretty bad alright; worst thing I did was an engine swap in freezing rain. Wet, crusted with ice. Oh yeah.
