Wow, I am quite impressed, an LX too

I think you should get on a track and get some video of you and a GTR SkyUSA, it would be a good watch

CA31_JR: I couldn't have said it better, I usualy break down and say somthing along those lines whenever a Domestic muscle vs. Japanese Tech discussion comes along, but you said it so eloquently all i've got to say is Ditto

LX's are lighter, so it should do better than a GT. And that is a 180,000mile LX toyou mister

Enlightening article, Sky. Not bad performance from a '90 LX. Late 80s GTs and LXs are popular around here, and there are plenty of well-tuned examples. Invariably, though, they go in straight lines only. This does seem kind of funny considering that there are about as many straight roads around here as flat roads (maybe 5 in the entire city).

The Maximum Motorsports LX's numbers blew my mind. They only spent 8k on that car?! Very nice. It'd be quite a challenge to do that with a Skyline. You may have won me over on the cost-effectiveness debate. Of course, as stated earlier, everyone wants something different from their car. But I have to admit, the Mustang is looking more and more tempting.

I'm going to keep waiting for the GT-R, personally. But I might go a little easier on the V8 boys now.

"And knowing is half the battle" G.I. Joe

I will be installing this system, plus some of their newer stuff when I get to England, but I will be using Coilovers with Koni Yellows. It should be good for over a G on the pad with some R1 tires, and 74.x mph for the slalom. I know I still will be spanked by the GTRs, it should be fun. I will also be spraying on the straight aways.

Just to give you guys an idea of how much money I will have in my car when I am done, it should be right around $12,000 out of my pocket. So, with the suspension mods, and spraying a 75shot it should be good for a high 10s in the 1/4, and over a 1G on the pad. Not bad for a two ton brick

Gon,
Yeah, I think I will be able to get some pics, or movies of my car along side some GTRs.

Hmmm, similar numbers to my GT-R (in the States), only that I don't have nitrous and have spend less than $10k.

sami,

What mods do you have, in Sport Compact they had a R32 doing something like .93G, 1/4 in 12.9 if remember correctly.

How much do you have in your car? Are you saying you have less than 10k total?

Stock suspension, for now. With right set of tires 1.1G shouldn't be a problem. To me, skidpad doesn't really tell much about handling though.

Less than $10k in mods, like new turbos etc. Did you mean you had $12k total including the car? I'll propably have that much in mods in the future, I still need to add stickier&wider tires into it and new brakes (Brembos most likely), but then again these cars are in a totally different class.

F40 Brembos, the last time I checked those are $2500 alone. Anyone have more recent prices?

Brembo only makes one kind of brake system? They were on the car when I bought it, not sure if they are F40. They are pretty damn big.
