Re: top speed?

Your crazy dude. I've been up to 130mph in my 8 and it feels rock solid, like I have control over everything. I'm sure you didnt test drive that car at 130pmh.

Godd job, now take the corner comming up at those speeds. The car is very uneven into a corner at high speeds. But like i said, it will all be fixed once the suspension is complete. Which shoudl be by monday or tuesday. Then the car will be ready to roll out.

Its just funny that your saying that because ever single person that has raced one on a track(professional driver or not) has had nothing but great things to say about the handling and stability of the RX8 at high and low speeds.

I have had my 04 6speed with borla exhaust and K&N intake up to 145mph at 5000ft elevation. That was in 6th gear, 5th gear would not reach that with the rpms. Im pretty sure that the car has an electronic govenor at 148mph. At sea lvl im sure you can hit it quite easily. As you can see from the below link, the car was only at 7400rpm at 145mph, so im sure a higher speed is possible when the governor is removed and at sea lvl.

P.S. Sorry that its kinda blurry, but when at that speed, although it feels like its on a rail, still kinda scarry to take a pic.

Its funny cause im an SCCA race instructor and i have raced rotaries my hole life. And i can say compared to a 3rd gen RX7 the RX8 is not very stable. With suspension modifications there amazing, on par with many full on race cars. But stock there not very nice for track use.

Once again I call BS. Not good for a track? Are you freakin crazy? Would you like to see a couple of videos of the STOCK RX8 staying up with some Carrera S's? Or maybe that's not good enough for you. You need to admit your just a hatter man. Everything you say is negative about the RX8 even though you try and not make it seem that way. You have something against the car and I have no clue why.

Heres one for you. Though the Carrera's are getting him on the straight the RX8 can easily stay with him. And the driver is from the UK, where they have the low HP 6 Speed Manuals. BRB with more......

That statement doesn't mean $hit to me. You can say that for any car in any race. I know what the 8 can do on a track since I've driven it on one. People talk trash about the 8 all the time, but have no clue and those that talk trash, 98% of them actually don't own one! I've seen too many videos of RX8's staying up with SS's, S4's, Z06's, Mustang GT's and so on. I guess they are all because the driver in the RX8 was better right? Come on now. Give the car some respect when its due. It has proven itself over and over again. Just how we cant beat an 350Z right? But look what happens when its stock vs. stock.

These are National Solo I results for 2005.

BSTOCK
1. Jason Isley Mazda RX-8
2. Joe Goeke Mazda RX-8
3. Ron Bauer Porsche 968
4. Keith Casey Mazda RX-8
5. Eric D. Jones Mazda RX-8
6. Phillip Weber Mazda RX-8
7. Randall Noll Mazda RX-8
8. Mark Sipe Mazda RX-8
9. H. Sharp Mazda RX-8
10. Christopher Hammond Nissan 350Z
11.John Vitamvas Mazda RX-8

15. Eric Hartwig BMW M3
16. Brady Dohrmann Nissan 350Z
17.Andy Hohl Nissan 350Z
18. Art Flores Mazda RX-8
19. Jim Thompson Nissan 350Z
20. Buckley.'NCar Mazda RX-8
21. David Hillman MR2
22. Mike Bronson Mazda RX-8
23. Davis Mazda RX-8
24. Ricaido Quinonez Nissan 350Z

Re: top speed?

why are you attacking me?

i never said the rx8 wasnt a capable machine, i just said the video posted could be considered a display of skill, rather than the car.

because what would have been the outcome had the rx8 driver been in the carrera? the carrera slowed way too much on corner entry, that signifies inconfidence in the driver's own abilities. thats how it seemed to me.

i cant say how slow or fast the rx8 is, ihavent driven one

Sorry if you took it that way. I wasn't trying to attack you man. I'm just tired of random people(who don't own an RX8/have never driven one) talk shit to me about my car. I KNOW what its capable of one since I drive on every day.

What I'm basically trying to say is sure there are faster cars in the straight line than a RX8. But the RX8 has proven itself over and over again on a track. So people need to think before they open their mouth(I'm not talking about you, but people in general who don't have the car). But when you prove a point most people who have something against the car says its driver ability. I guess we have a lot of good drivers in the RX8's. Or maybe its the way the car was built. This car is easy to drive fast and to put in and out of corners. I need to find real sweet video. Let me see if I can find it on my hard drive.............

Re: top speed?

Look dude, its my personal opinion and im dam well intitled to it. I have driven ALOT of RX8's, and TONS of othere rotary powered cars as well as amazing piston powered vehicles too.

IMO the RX8 is poor at high speed track use, if you have a problem with that then thats your problem all on your own. I have nothign against the car, to me its another thing to make money off of. I have customers who race RX8's, i have customers who just want simple little things done to the car.

PS im not some random guy, i have owned RX8's and driven RX8's. I never said they werent good cars, i simpley said there are better. Your intitled to your own opinion but dont tell me what mine is, k pumpkin

There great cars, but there are better and IMO the 3rd gen RX7 beats it in every aspect except luxuary.

Re: top speed?

http://www.scca.org/_Filelibrary/Fil...NALresults.pdf

That is the national SOLO results for 2005. Yes in B stock the RX8 dominates as it is a new production vehicle that meets the required rules of the class and is of a good price and readialy avaliable.

E Stock is dominated by MR2's, Super Stock Corveetts.

Domination over a single class is one thing, being competitive over more than one is somethign totaly different. I do agree the RX8 is a great car. I do give it respect where it is due, and domination over B Stock is a great acheivement, but my opinion stands.

I'm calling BS on you right now! You've owned several RX8's? Show me pics man. I think your straight up full of it. You think I'm going to let your crazy opinions change what I think of my car. I've heard plenty of applause from the experts that have driven cars you dream about. They have driven plenty of more cars than you. And I've driven my car on plenty of road courses/tracks all over the east coast and I know what my car is capable of. Please dude, your a whole bunch a trouble put into a can. Do you think these car reviews and track times are made up? Come on now! Stop drinking and typing, you may want to do a grammar and spell check the next time you type. Your just a straight up hatter and you just need to realize it. You think you can come up in here and talk all this stuff with you riced up RX7? Stay in the RX7 forums and keep faking on the 8!

BTW I'll be waiting for those pics because I'm trying to figure out why you would buy several RX8's......

Re: top speed?

Hey retard, read my posts. THERE GOOD CARS. That is why i would buy them.
I really dont care weather or not you beleave me or not, or weather you care for my spelling or grammer. Its fine and dandy you beleave your car is king shit, and to you it is there is nothing wrong with that.
Like i have said over and over again, RX8's are good cars, but there is better.

Riced up, BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Im not the one with "rotary accents" there bud.

GP sports full kit, proven aerodynamic advadges over stock body and more airflow to my rad as well at the FMIC. M sports fenders so i can run wider wheels and tires for improved road holding. But you must be rite about it. I mean, it has a bodykit so its rice. LMAO.

Read the SCCA rules and regulations for B Stock and you will see why the RX8 dominates the feild. If you want to see pics of my work simpley look in the RX7 section under a few posts of mine.
