My god! Someone posting a reply WITHOUT the revered name of the F1 being mentioned ... banish him to the pits of hell, or at least to the American Muscle Car forum!

He knows. That's why his reply was directed at F1 Monster's quote.

Nick Mason isn't the type to own two - GTR #10R is the only one he has.

The info on Rowan's possible acquisition of a second F1 is a bit sketchy at this point. I had heard it was the former Steve O'Rourke Emka/EMI longtail which would be #24R, but someone mentioned that Taylor & Crawley are offering that one for sale now.

ahhh i see, i see. i had read a post somewhere on these forums stating the belief that rowan had acquired a 97 gtr and had it resprayed to its original fina livery... perhaps it was someone else? i thought it would be 23r... but seeing that 23r is for sale currently in its fina livery means it couldnt be that car... 24r was a gtc competition car though, which means its original livery would be the gulf/team davidoff colors... which contradicts what i just said about the original fina livery paint job... i am confused now...
im taking it that this acquisition hasnt yet been proven or disproven? which would explain why it would still be sketchy as you said

so nick mason "only" owns 10r which is the red gtr converted for road use correct?

So '54 F1 GT' which is Black with 10% Flake, whatever that means, is with John S in the UK. I had down that it was possibly with the sultan, but F1 Monster seems to have a good source so alright. Now all GT's are accounted for I guess!

I've been saying its with John S all along but "certain" people seemed to think it went to Brunei.

I also have a source that claimed there is a GT in Brunei. Process of elimination would mean that unless 56XPGT was there and came back that 54F1GT would be the one over there.

At this point it's just one person's word against another until further proof materializes on it. I'm even fine with being wrong - in fact I would be pleased to hear that their isn't a GT locked away in Brunei, but again we're all just working off of second hand info.

To answer Fortune's question - yes, Nick's only McLaren F1 is GTR #10R, converted for road use.

What exactly has to be done to convert a GTR to road use in the UK? I've noticed that the road legal GTRs registered there (06R, 10R, 16R, etc) all have their race sponsors and number removed, but still have the general paint schemes. Is this required by law to have all sponsor names removed?

Edit: I mean when 16R was there and for sale. Not in the condition it's in right now in Australia.
