i find beer is more social. it's more fun to stand around with a beer in your hand and always be drinking something and slowly get drunk, rather then pound back 4 shots, get drunk right away, and then stumble around with nothing in your hand.

Who drinks vodka straight? Personally I like it mixed with Gatorade, Sobe or Pepsi.

All alcohol tastes like shit. My philosiphy is that if I'm here to get drunk I might as well stay sober to meet the ladies for a bit and then do it as quickly as possible. That way I'm well aware of when I begin to be an obnoxious snob, as opposed to beer, where the transformation is more gradual.

I can drink anything straight...after a while, your mouth goes numb and you don't taste it. Personally, I hate beer. If that's the only thing to drink, then of couse I'll drink it but...I perfer hard liquor to beer any day.

Same here. Beer doesnt' taste that good to me, doesn't get me drunk because I drink too slow I guess and it gets warm faster for me because of that. And it takes a few shots before I even get a buzz anyway.

I think this dude is just fucking around and knows the difference between vodka and beeer though.

I remember one time hanging out with some friends, there was this dude there that was just weird. Not even sure why he was there. So he was drinking like wine coolers I think and I can't remember what we all were drinking. But he wouldn't drink any, said its too strong for him, make him sick, etc. We finally got him to mix himself a drink, he hardly covered the bottom of his glass with alcohol and the rest was whatever we were mixing with and he puked from it. He took a couple drinks, started gagging and someone was in the bathroom so we had to give him the ice bucket (we were in a hotel) for him to puke into. That dude was soemthing else, was stuck with him for a weekend and I think we all almost beat the shit out of him at one point or another.

I stole a bottle of vodka once, and we were driving around town doing whatever we wanted and I kept taking swigs out of the bottle, I think I had like a dozen swigs, and as soon as I got out of the car, I was like, omg... im drunk. The ethyl alcohol is more concentrated in Vodka than in beer, and ethyl is the alcohol that you want to drink, it's the alcohol that gets you drunk. Vodka is the result of a fractional distillation process that purifies an alcoholic "beer" into 95.6% ethyl alcohol, with the remaining amount being water. This 95.6% is then diluted with water to 40% by volume. So yes, the ethyl is more concentrated, however Vodka has a far lower concentration of methanol and fusel oils (quantities would be measured in the parts per billion or lower). Methanol is very poisonous and is the lead cause of hangovers (most of the other contaminants aren't good for you either). All other undistilled spirits have a far higher concentration of these contaminants. So while Vodka has a higher concentration of ethyl, it is actually safer when drunk in moderation since it has had these poisons removed.
