Re: Why Nissan?

shiet... i'd rather preferred the Honda's to NOT bring the so-called "import scene" down to the US in the first place. Everything is so overpriced now because of that. You could put any price on something new... and of course rich ricers who think it's good perfomance will open their wallets for it. Now that everyone's attempted/attempting to import from Jap, the states established all sorts of unfair rules everywhere. i think it's bullshit. Cars would be much easier to find... cheaper... and ricers who just like to 'pose' wouldn't even exist. (b/c there are too many out there who just like to go along with the fad).

i jus wished they had kept nissan underground like before but now it's slowly being swept away by the hands of ricers.

sigh...

Shiftka24de, since imports became huge in the U.S., parts started being shipped over and American companies started making them. If it never got popular the resources for making these cars kick ass would never have existed in the U.S. and everything would have to be shipped from Japan. Hence expensive. Usually popularity brings about cheaper parts because there is always going to be a company that offers the same part for cheaper, if possible, on popular parts. In order for other companies to compete they must lower prices. That's why the Chevy 350 or 5.7 liter motor is so cheap and easy to make powerful. It was a very popular motor, and still probably the most popular motor in the U.S. Every Hot Rodder out there has had a 350 Chevy.

P.S. There would probably be no chance of the new Skyline coming to the U.S. if it wasn't for the popularity of imports.

Re: Why Nissan?

its a good thing people can stay on subject because otherwies we would be lost........as for why i love nissan, nissan has overcome all obsticles in its way in every class(drag, drift, and circuit)not to mention its durabilaty and fuel economy, that is only surpased by toyota, honda would come in 3rd in that area. but really if you want a fast inexpecive fuel friendly car that will last nissan is the way to go. cant expect the much fron honda or toyota...unless your buying the toyota supra expencive in both price and gas but good.and honda.....not too fast now is it.

Re: Why Nissan?

the honda nation is over and its about damn time everyone is looking for new cars to get there hands on and tune. The civic people made themselves die out by doing the same shit over and over. that is the grreat thing about the 240 it cant be over done there arent enough 240's in america for it to really get played out. and i love my 240 because its RWD and because when i drive by civics in my RWD car i always fell better about myself knowing that they are slow

Niswiz, you give 240SX lovers a bad name. You are ignorant and stupid. As far as fast Hondas, mine has a total investment of $5,200, including the price of the car. It gets an average gas milage of 27-28 mpg, that's average, not freeway. I ran a 14.01 best 1/4 with stock steely wheels and tires. For the money you can't beat Honda. I love Nissans too, if you check my info I own a 240SX. Oh and by the way, my honda is a 4-door. I beat 350z's, twin turbo 300zx's, 240's, 200sx's, with no trouble. I love both companies and will not tollerate stupid retards that put one down without knowing shit.

i think you're pushing it.. STOCK 350z's will do 14s, let alone a modded one. a good driver will do low 14s.. and for 300zxtt's?? easy there driftsilvia.. thats just ridiculous

At the track, in Charlsbad, CA, 350z's run 14.5-14.8 usually. I run low 14's consistanly, so I usually win. The best time I have seen for a 350z is 14.24. The 300zxtt are running high 14's. The best I have seen for those is 14.57. Keep in consideration these cars are virtually stock, maybe exhaust and/or intake. Modded they are fast and will beat me. But price wise you can't touch me for with those cars with a total investment of $5,200, can you. Honda's are great speed, reliability, and gas milage for the money. It is cheaper to make a Honda go fast, but yes it is limited. I am just sick of people not giving Honda's any credit. All I hear is people bad mouthing them. On the Honda forum you don't see people bad mouthing Nissan, so why are people here so determined to put other things down. I love both companies.

Re: Why Nissan?

i don't see how much joy you get out of beating stock cars.. these guys obviously aren't the best drivers.. people like you frustrate me.. don't get pissed at me for that, its just the way i feel about it.. i'll give you that your civic does 14s but has little more potential unless you spend $1500 for every 0.5s you take off your 1/4 mile time.. and a 14.57 best for a 300zxtt?? wow, i'm disappointed

300zxtt are only supposed to run 14.4's in the 1/4. Back when they came out, that is what the mags were getting. Beating stock cars that cost $30,000 does make me feel good. I'm sure you would love it if you beat stock SS Camaros with a 240SX and a couple mods, wouldn't you. It's the satifaction knowing that you spent a fraction of the money, and don't carry the status, and can still win in a race. Everyone knows this feeling when they beat a Mustang, or maybe you can't do that yet. Like I said, I just don't see why people have to bag on Honda.

You seemed to be on my side earlier. Don't know why you are being like this now. I do get mad when people bag on the things I like, especially when there is no reason to do so.

Re: Why Nissan?

sorry man, im trying to admit the fact that today is the last day i can drive my 240 till probably march.. i've been pessimistic with everyone.. don't take it personally. yeah, i would be pretty happy beating stock ss camaros.. when you said 300zxtt i automatically think they're modded but they're stock so thats a different story.. the reason i don't like hondas is cause they're not fast to start with unless you have one that comes with the h22.. other than that you have to spend money to get it to compete with the stock 240..
no hard feelings man i don't really mean to be sour
