Re: 6 Mechanics are stumped and cant fix my car

Just for the record, my 89 Tempest/Corsica did this exact same thing to me... it turned out to be a loose main ground (my fault for not tightening it properly when I disconnected it to clean out the corrosion)

Which way to the bar?

Er' JAYSON716? Where did that come from it was a 96 cav.

Oh by the way 95-99 Neons had a problem with the head gasket but DaimlerChrysler decided this wasn't a recall issue!

Was it professor plum in the bathroom with the pull-cord for the rollerblind?

I think this thread has gone ways away from its intended purpose...

Just to let you know, it's not a anti-theft problem. I've had that problem and it basically comes down to an expensive piece of plastic not lining up straight in the steering column. After driving for a bit, when coming to a stop, the car would start shuddering and then stall in-gear. Another contributing factor to that actually, was the TCC solenoid which needed to be unplugged/replaced.

Re: 6 Mechanics are stumped and cant fix my car

I'm glad to see that your stalling issue was fixed. I'm surprised though that 6 mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong. I had a similar problem with my brand new Cavalier, and the dealership could not find any codes, and wouldn't fix it even though the car was under warranty.

The best they would do was change the fuel pump as a "good will gesture". LOL!!!

Maybe I should have come to these forums when my brand new Cavalier was stalling. Better yet, maybe I should have told the service department at the dealership to come to these forums.

I'm still amazed that modern day mechanics are useless without damned computer codes.
