Re: 1999 ZR2 fuel pump whine????

Well, I would bet you have a Passlock system failure. Pay attention to the security light on the dash and what it does. It should light up and go out. If it stays on or flashes, that's your problem. You can turn your ignition on for 10 minutes then crank it over to get it to start.

Re: 1999 ZR2 fuel pump whine????

scan the ecm and get that check engine light code. the ticking is most likely from the engine sitting and the lifters have no oil pressure. that is usually normal if a motor sits for a while. dont worry about it as long as it goes away within 10seconds or less. which gauge doesnt work?

Re: 1999 ZR2 fuel pump whine????

If you are having problems with both the pump and fuel gauge I would guess there is a problem at the connectors to the pump/pickup. If that connection is craped out it might cause both problems. Just an idea.

Re: 1999 ZR2 fuel pump whine????

dont quote me on this but i think if you disconnect the connector to the fuel gauge sending unit the fuel gauge should red full (high resistance) and if there is a short in the circuit (low resistance) the fuel gauge should read empty. check this out! look under the vehicle and make sure no wires have been crushed, damaged, or shorted out. also, check the connectors for damage or corrosion.

Re: 1999 ZR2 fuel pump whine????

Well.... I found out what it is...i reached ontop of the pump and moved the wires around...trying to get the gage to work......and turned the key on and the pump didnt come on...moved the wires back to were they were and the pump come on......I gues its the connector or a bad wire.....So...I assume thats why the gage isnt working also?????

Re: 1999 ZR2 fuel pump whine????

p0452 low input. that code is because there is intermittent voltage to the tank pressure sensor. fix the wiring/connector problem and clear the code. it should not come back on when problem is fixed.
