Wow, I have that kit and I'm in the process of chosing wheels and getting the right low stance. I've always loved the 62-64, I plan to get and restore one in a few years now that my 66 Caprice is gone.

I haven't forgotten about this one, I just received some model bling in the mail today courtesy of malsheem.

Sorry for the dark pics, I think it's the reflection of the license plate that makes the rest darker. The rims are Aoshima's 19" Kranze LXZ's straight out of the box. I think they look great on the car! They're the perfect diameter overall, the body sits flat on the floor and the tops of the tires just snuggle up to the underside of the body.

I haven't decided yet on the color of the car, but if I go with black, I may just paint the wheel spokes black as well. What do you think?

I might throw some primer on it this evening or tomorrow. I've also decided to keep the door handles to show off the fact that they're sucide doors, and I won't be using the skirts because the wheels are just too nice!

Comments and questions welcome,

Phil

Nice. I think the skirts would look cool if you didn't have all that bling underneath. Show it off!

Quebec!

I dig your Lincoln. Dig it like a shovel. It's fine. Have you thought about opening the doors? Suicide doors open are hot like a stove left on all night, you know, the kind that didn't burn down your house. Sorry if you've mentioned it and I didn't read about it. I am blind.

Very cool model car. It is going to be magnificent.

I found it on the back of my car. I live in Laval.

Thanks for the comments from all of you, the rims will be staying chrome and there will be no fender skirts. I'm currently working on a Revell Civic, and it's almost done, so as soon as that's out of the way, the Lincoln will be pulling up front and center on my bench. Gotta see what I can use for brakes... those wheels have so much open space!

Re: Progress: The Pimpin' Lincoln!

Taking up the digging theme of this thread, I'm digging it up from the dead!

I've been really busy with a career change that's kept me away from the bench, but I've gotten some work done on the Pimpin' Lincoln in the last few weeks.

I've sprayed several coats of Semi-gloss black on it with a lot of sanding in between to work out some serious flaws in the paint that I made.

Over top of that now lies a pearl clear coat. I'm currently working on all the chrome, but I ran out. When it's all (or mostly) done, I'll post up another update.

Once the chrome is done, I'll spray a final coat of straight clear to seal it all up.

So after 6 whole months, the Pimpin' Lincoln is back from the grave!
