Ok, back on subject, if you have the LO3 then domone said will do fine, except it's a holley 670 TBI. Except I wouldn't go with the edelbrock performer rpm cam, I think it has a lil to much lift for what your application, the performer cam would best sute you, or call up comp cams and get them to grind you a cam from there xtreme energy series. If your only wanting 250 horse then you don't need new heads, the ones you have will be fine. I'd get the w/p sr torquer 305 heads if you where going with some bigger numbers. But for 250hp I'd get the holley 670, edelbrock performer intake, xtreme energy cam, edelbrock TES headers, headman cat and flowmaster cat back. that should do you good. That might actualy jump you up to about 260-265hp Another good mod is the TB spacers and the injector spacers. Also since your spending money, get an MSD 6A or 6AL box, blaster coil, cap&rotor and some 8mm wires.

theres a website that sells a 335 stroker kit for a 305 it gives you loads of power over stock. I thought about that for my old TPI 305 in my old IROC.

That and headers, bigger throttle body, and intake setup. You would be at 250 hp easy.

see thats what I thought too.. But i figured once he built his engine up to about 250-260hp, he would go completly mad with the urge for more power.. more more more..

Re: what can i do to the 305 in my camaro to give it more power.

hopping up the 305 in front of a stock T5 is not really a good idea. basily youre looking to put the power of an L98 motor in front of the tranny, which GM already decided was a bad idea, enough so that they didnt do it. If you are gonna hop up the 305 then get a different trans to back it up.

well now i see that any way that i go with making my car more powerful im going to have to upgrade the tranny. it would be cheaper to just buy a good used t-56 and drop in my 350, and use the extra cash to buy the holly tbi unit and what ever else i will need

Re: what can i do to the 305 in my camaro to give it more power.

i already done the exhaust deal, just made her growl a little louder. i had done that 2 years ago. the 5 speeds in the rs's are geared to low in 1st and second gear anyway. i have a 307 hp 350 that i got off of a friend and it only has 4500 miles on it.
im going to drop it in there and bolt a 6 speed to it.

I don't think GM decided not to put the T5 behind the L98 because it was a bad idea mechanicly(sp). I think they did it because of other reasons uforsean. And didn't the L98 Vette come with a T5? But if you remember I ran my T5 upwards of 400hp with out a problem.

As far as saving money by dropping a T56, your in for a surprize, it ain't reall cheap, trust me I just went throught that. From tranny mounts, driveshaft, torque arm& bracket, cutting the shifter hole bigger, and all that. Worth it, but not cheap.
