Re: Ram-Air GTO (575 HP)

I didn't like the price, for what you pay you could sure build a nice car. My 66' cost more then the Corvette did that year.It also doesn't handle that well. And it's UGLY.

It is a shame that the GTO looks as exciting as a row of econo rental cars

AKEW,
You know everyone is only joking.
I don't know anyone who is into cars that say they like the GTO and wouldn't make any changes.

kustom, can you please shrink that picture down if you're going to have it in all your posts. It's entirely too big.

anyways back to the GTO, car needs a more agressive look. it just doesn't happen with a cavalier on steriods.

I think the exhaust's looked lame as hell.

But what about that ram air intake setup under the hood, eh? If something like that made it to production it would easily be a $2000+ option, probably way more (PLUS what the hood would cost, etc...)

Re: Ram-Air GTO (575 HP)

I LIKE the GTO. I also build cars and engines for a living. I'm just damn glad Pontiac had the cajones to build it in the first place. Certainly NOT politically correct...
BTW, what's up with the "ugly exhaust" comments? They're only ugly when you can see them. If you're not drivng the GTO, you must be in a Camaro or Mustang or something, that's the view of GTO you non-Pontiac people are accustom to... You probably HATE the tail lights! Get used to 'em. (:-

I like the GTO too - thats because I've gone through two GTP's since '98 (a red one and a black one ) and to me the GTO is nothing more than an LS1 GTP with RWD and a new platform. Its wicked but its nothing NEW! A Corvette/Camaro/Firebird engine in a Holden chassis. Watch out Ford and Chrysler, GM is baaaaaaack!!!!

But don't get me wrong, GM needs the GTO to fill the void left behind by the F-Body departure.

BTW, why exactly should F-Body owners start to worry about the GTO? It's their engine in a heavier car.

The one thing that we have to agree on is thank them for giving us a coupe with a V-8 and RWD

Well a few of us are working to turn the goat into something much, much different than the '04 styling. The hood in my sig is just the beginning.

I think that the '05 GTO looks much better than the '04. It also gets to 60 in 4.5 seconds. Go to Pontiacs website and judge for yourself.
