Hey crack sure you can put 23 psi on stock internals heck chage the turbo and get one that can put 40 psi. but think how long till you have to change the engine?

only very few cars can take higher turbo boosts without reinforcing the engine. egines like the hemi or the one on the skyline.they are designed to take it. the 2.0 dohc on the eclipse is not one of them.

and stop quoting racing modified eclipses like the one that does 11 sec (don't even think to say it was stock) they are heavily moded or they increase for a short time the boost for the race and can afford to have an engine blow up on them.

and polygons car is true has a tuff engine it can take maybe up to 20 psi but his engine is known to acctually be tuff- factory reinforced true not as good as aftermarket reinforcement but still reinforced-

so don't make fun of cars that you don't know nything about.

i wasn't making fun of him nor was i downgrading him only telling him the have more potential....and YES the 4g63 eclipse turbo engines can handle well over 300 horsepower and 23 psi of boost on a stock bottom end. meaning no crank work or work done to strengthen the main caps, or polished rods or aftermarket pistons. By the way, the hemi- was designed as a dragrace engine, never meant to be turbocharged, although it does handle the boost rather well (17 is the highest i've seen on a race/turbo hemi) By the way, the ports in the first gen 90-94 4g63 heads are bigger than a chevy bigblock rectangular port head. Bang for the buck, DSm's are the way to go....that's all
