Re: Christmas Gift Idea

Nice Chevy! About the Pontiac Grand Prix's, my 1998 GP GT makes noise from the right front wheel area even when going slow. Might be struts? How often you supposed to change those? It has almost 56,000 mi. on it.

She laying right here.......sleeping. Our basement is finished, she's on the couch, my son is playing PS2, and you know where I am. Oh wait, you live in Florida.......you know what a basement is, right?

The whole idea behind making a set of the grills is so that my son can start selling them on Ebay. They're really heavy gauge steel. I'll load up a pic tomorrow. This dial-up sux.......installing DSL tomorrow.

What kind of noise. 56k is too soon for a new set of struts....unless you're buying Koni's.

Re: Christmas Gift Idea

carnutcass, I call it a crunching noise, it's hard to describe. It doesn't squeak. It sounds like coming from the right front wheel well. Hear it with radio off when going even slowly over slight bumps. Car feels bouncy too. Are 'struts' like the 'shocks' we had on old cars? My car sounds like old worn-out shocks.

Re: Christmas Gift Idea

I lived in Michigan 99% of my life. Basements, pool tables, bar and TV's
Tell your Son that I'm a friend. I would also tell everyone where I got them. And you know down here, no body has anything to buy.
Used to have cable. The day Verizon brought out DSL, I changed. I kind of wish I would have keep the cable. But know I can send you some big folders. If you had a 750 Zip, I could send you some of the couple programs I have. You could mail it back and we could do that for the next year. Did you mail that out yet? Have the Wife sitting at home to the mailman leaves.

Re: Christmas Gift Idea

This is the 2nd set in 79,000 miles? What kind of road do you live on. Still have the set that came on the car!! When the car is stopped, don't want you to do this when it's running. Only kidding. Push down on that side. Try it with hood opened. The listen to where the noise is. Could be a couple things.

The strut assembly consists of several parts, two of which are the strut cartridge and the coil spring. Sooooooo......the strut assembly actually performs the same function that the coil spring, leaf spring, or torsion bar and shocks served on older vehicles.

The problem could be the strut cartridges if it's bouncy. I think GP's suspension too soft from the factory.

Candles or grills, candles or grills. Too much pressure.

Re: Christmas Gift Idea

OK, how much. Now that you have everyone on this sites mouth watering? What did you make them out of? Don't want them to rust. Don't want to have to drive around and have people ask if it's a Ford.
