Haha...well it has always been different for me. I used to take the piss out of my bio teacher constantly....and in Uni, I got away with going to the movies, or to lunch instead of having piano lessons. In chamber music tutorials, we also got away with having lunch instead of having tuts. Only I could do it ofcourse, none of the other groups got away with it. I seemed to get a bit of a reputation for being persuasive

I can't remember how many uni assignments I handed in late and got away with. Actually, a few of us got good at it - and at persuading the tute leaders that we had done the readings and knew more than we did... that's when we wern't taking the piss out of psych. ed. theories

Because I went to the conservatorium, we were only allowed 2 abscences a semester from each subject. so uni days were spent organise when to jig classes.

Going out on prac was always a good excuse... the humanities faculties never did check up on us. Which was cool, as Manning bar at Sydney Uni was right next to the Education Faculty

So glad I'm finished Uni....didn't get out of it what I expected. Was disappointed, as most of the music majors

I have a friend in S.A. that did her degree in musicology. She ended up on the Jazz circuit in Adelaide and is doing really well from it. Has her own band and has released an album (limited run of course). But she said the same thing, no-one really cares about the degree, just the quality of her music. In fact, she found out that she was now over-qualified for some of the stuff she wanted to do when she finished.

heh - she and I were in the same theatre group when we were teenagers. We finally caught up after 18 or so years, really interesting to compare notes.

Damn... 18 years - now I do feel old

It was a bit of overkill for all of us

Really its up to the individual. I'm at the stage, where I enjoy playing myself more than others.

Like you weren't thinking the same thing. You're just too nice to say anything.
