shutter speed has no correlation to correct exposure when using automatic metering. in aperture / shutter priority mode you set one and the camera sets the other based upon the exposure value for the image you're trying to capture. unless you put it in manual mode or dial in some exposure correction the end result will always be what the camera believes to be correctly exposed. however as this is an olympus, i'm guessing that they are still trying to pass off esp as a 'good' metering model (bastardised center weighted with backlight detection) and is the most likely reason it's a bit overexposed (looks about 2/3 to 1 stop which is the same as my om-40 used to produce).

have you tried any of the push fit filters? or, i use the (very cheap) adapter/hood on my g5 (for attaching the wide and tele converters) which has a 58mm thread on the end of it. i then attach all my usual cokin p filters. i'm pretty sure they do one for the a80. do you have a removable collar round your lens? if so, that's how the hood/converter attaches.

This one would have been near perfect had the car not been spinning, the shot's a little blurred due to that.



This one would look better minus the people's shadows on the door and if there was a little more light on the rear of the car.

Well, I got a new digital camera, and while attempting to use it tonight to take a picture of a local early 70s Camaro, I came up with this:



I thought it was kinda interesting actually....I wish he hadn't still been turning, maybe the nose would be a little more in focus!
