And so is the Chevy Aveo(Daewoo), Chevy Tracker(Suzuki), Chrysler Crossfire(Mercedes), Ford Probe(Mazda), Chevy Prizm(Toyota), Geo Storm(Isuzu), Saturn Vue(Isuzu), Pontiac GTO(Holden). Doesn't make them American cars. The Geo Metro/Chevy Sprint/Pontiac Firefly are all Suzuki Swift's. Which in maky parts of the world, rally cars. And yes, they're FAST. They've even competed in such events as WRX(World Rallycross) and Pike's Peak hillclimb. Find me a Nissan that can run at 5,400RPM's for an 11 hour drive down I-75(Detroit to Nashville), and still run, and I'll give you a medal. OH, and do it on $15 worth of gas too. Suzuki motors are far more refined than a Nissan. The 1.0L 3cyl and 1.3L 4cyl have been in production almost un-changed since 1984. They never get praise because they're not performance motors, they're economy motors. They may only have 55-75hp, but they only push an 1800LB car. Obviously, it's not a problem for an economy car or they would have changed that 20 years ago. Now, if you wanna talk power, i'll bet ya $50 my Geo will take your Nissan any day of the week
(check my links) And yes, it's a genuine Suzuki production motor. And yes, they were put in the Suzuki swift. So it's not an out-of-class motor. It's an SCCA approved setup. No JDM(like honda kids do), no NOS, no turbo. Pure high revving N/A power. Lemme know when Nissan can get 150hp out of a 1.3L with stock internals and stock fuel system

I can't guarantee you that I can do it on 15 dollars worth of gas, but yes, I'm fairly certain that a Nissan can embark on an 11 hour trip at that RPM, most Nissan's aren't economy cars though. Nissans have been in the Le Mans (24 hour race) since 1986, and the engine designs aren't much different from their showroom counterparts. Ever heard of the Calsonic Skyline GTR? It uses the same basic Engine as a maxima, the VQ. Nissans have raced in the Dakar Rally, a 6,500 mile race that spans 4 countries.
..pushing only 55-75 hp on an 1800lb. car. stock, I pushed 190hp on a 3000lb. car stock to stock, i had almost twice the power to weight ratio. I'm not going to argue who's car is faster, because i dont know what you might have, and likewise for yourself, you don't know what's under my hood. I don't know what Suzuki Swift had 150hp stock with a NA 1.3L motor, perhaps you could help me with that. By the way, how much torque did it produce? It's not a problem for an economy car, because that's what it is, our cars are in different classes, and built with different things in mind. If the Geo wasn't an economy car, perhaps more R&D would have gone into creating an engine that produces more power, but that obviously wasnt the case, it's a car that saves you money, gets you there from point a to point b, and is made from the cheapest materials. I still think a lack of power from a Geo is funny. Maybe it's just me
