I'm sure you guys would have loved it!
Wow - I missed out on that one.

The carbon air intake recently was sold again - still about $2500 cheaper than what the part itself would probably cost.

Almost Thorst.. almost. Funny you say that, because all my coworkers joked that I was building a Mclaren piece by piece. Missed out on a Carbon Fiber GTR seat when I was first collecting these items. They wanted 1100 British Pounds. Then I'd have to pay to have it shipped across the pond. Also missed out on a front clip, wing side plate, exhaust headers from one side.

Here are pics of 2 of the rear wheels and 1 of the front. There is a photograph in Michael Cotton's book of the Gulf McLaren GTR with the broken wheel as it came into the pits.

The front is a later 96 design with the vent holes in the center. You can barely make out the GTR logo on the upper left spoke:

I do have a rear wheel from the Riley & Scott WSC car which is actually the same wheel from the 97 GTRs. This cost about $90 US.

The Gulf wheels have been around 90 - 175 British Pounds.

I really wanted that carbon intake. Would have paid much more for it. Too bad they don't post on USA ebay.

Most of my pieces have been purchased from Simon Lewis Garage based in England. He had all the parts I mentioned above when I first started purchasing from him. Really nice chap. Fast shipping. Couldn't ask for more from a seller.

Only purchased 1 wheel from another person on Ebay. There is multispoke floating around in Europe that is from the 97 GTR that caught fire. (It has some burnt carbon fiber on it.) Not sure if came off the one that caught fire at LeMans or not.

If you have a source for McLaren parts, let me know.

Regards

Thorst, if you could have your source contact me as well. I am curious to see what is out there.

BTW: Forgot to mention that I have a day planner with the McLaren embossed onto the cover. Will have pics of it up next week.

Buy it now was $400 USD? or £400 GBP? I'm guessing the latter.
