I just doubt the validity of this entire thing, not you gateway, but I REALLY wonder where they are gathering this information. Because the only reasonable explanation I could think of is they asked 5-10 8 year old boys what cars they want when they can drive...how else would you come up with such a list.
If you think about it logically, the scions and GTO have only been available for the past year or so. Magnums...this summer, and cobalts aren't out yet...in the last year, I would think more '99 vr4s got pulled over for street racing, than all 4 of these cars...nation-wide combined. It just makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. Only 3 v8s even made the list... If you think about it, the cobalt beat out EVERY ls1 car EVER? HOW? If even 1 ws6 or corvette got pulled over it should logically be higher on that list than the cobalt(which isn't even on the road yet)...I'm assuming more than 1 ls1 got pulled over last year due to street racing...so when have all these chevy cobalts had time to race so much?

Like I said, I am just reporting what my company has noticed for street racing when we investigate claims. I'm sure if you look at state farms "top 20" list it's much different because they insure like 40% of the nation.

When first read the title I started looking for the Camaro to be on the top of the list, but its not even on there. And the NSX? Why would you do street racing in a car thats so slow in a straight line for its price? I think they might have done a survey and asked the questions funny to get those answers, like asking "when you think of street racing, what cars come to mind?", not actual statistics.

Heres how the study was composed.
"August 14th, 2004. A study was composed today among 1500 16-20 year old males from 30 Californian High schools about which cars are the fastest and tightest, only a few of the Male subjects had any common sense as to what cars are actually fast, among them the Nissan Skyline, Acura Nsx and the Toyota Supra. The results of this poll along with a viewing of 50 "street racing videos" (To find out which cars were involved) were compiled and then the 19 highest chosen/viewed cars were picked for our "Top 20! 'The 20 most likely cars to be used in street racing!" (The Honda Civic was automatically added in.) The rest of the male subjects who didn't pick the Skyline, NSX or Supra, were figured to be pretty dumb ricers who Liked the FnF franchise. The ones who picked the GTO were just idiots. .""

I highly doubt that that is an international list. The skyline is the only car on it that is not intended to be sold in the US, and the only reason anyone would import one is to race it. Can you even find a skyline in the US that isnt affiliated with some sort of racing? That is a challege, prove me wrong. However, the US is the only country that has Acura(2 on the list), the Eclipse, and the 240SX. Looks like a US list only to me.
