Looks nice!
if it gets more rounded top, it looks like 'Porsche' more. but it looks good enough. |

Re: Operation Porsche Carrera GT Coupe
Well, you beat me to it. I had a slightly different design in mind, so I guess I'll do mine soon.

That's one awesome CGT!!! Can't wait to see how you'll reshape the top, but IMO you need to make it more Porsche like... side windows and all. To look like it's factory stock. Goodluck!

Thanks! The way Porsche has been designing lately I think LESS Porsche-like may be better.

Re: Operation Porsche Carrera GT Coupe
Sweet conversion. Im also starting to think it looks better than the original GT. So did you kit bash a Tamiya 360 Modena for the conversion? *$29.00...ouch* So far it looks like its more than worth it.

Re: Operation Porsche Carrera GT Coupe
Whoa whoa whoa, you're getting way to close to the "over-coolness line". Great idea, can't wait to see more.

Re: Operation Porsche Carrera GT Coupe
Looking at your work so far I have a couple ideas, and though I know it's you're build and you're vision... well... I get so excited I can't keep them to myself! So just don't mind me. I think that having the rearward windows mimic the door would look odd, and there doesn't look to be enough room, perhaps to bring it down like on "normal" Porsches. If you want it to accentuate the door, have them end at the same place so it looks like a continuous curve that doubles back. (Personally, I would reshape and lessen the effect of the door cove thing, I know it's functional but it looks way out of place on any version of this car.) The spoiler - more personal taste stuff, but a cool whale tail like spoiler similar to the old 911's would do the trick, you could pinch one from an old kit, and widen it so it smoothly grows out of the fenders and over the taillights. Well, that's just excited rambling, if I felt so strongly I'd do it myself. I still can't wait to see what you do, you've got some of the classiest builds around.

The roof is about ready to glue on so I can reshape the A pillar and side window. The roof got a lot more sleek as I modified it to fit the car, also had to be done a certain way so the hatch would open/close properly.
I will add plastic to rear of the side window opening where it sweeps down to meet the body, bring it closer to the door so that it blends in better. The hatch will be glued and molded into the center spoiler so the spoiler will become an extension of the hatch. The tunnel under the spoiler will be open into the engine bay. Still have to decide about the rear window size and shape. The car is more of a concept idea than something that would really meet factory standards. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Operation Porsche Carrera GT Coupe
That's nice ! IMHO a supercar MUST have a roof. That's what i disliked the more about the carrera GT. It looks better like that.
