![]() and it doesn't matter that they're all unibodys anyway. just need a usdm s13 and all will be good. just have to deal with customs when it comes in. and no, im not vin swapping.

Re: Skyline Frame...
So, what are you getting at, Mediocrity?
You have a R32 GTSt coming in? Do you plan on bypassed the federal regulations, which means it will not truely be road legal, or are you building a race only vehical? Either way, good luck on your project. Post some pics, when you start.

Re: Skyline Frame...
Here's what I'm gonna do when I can get my school loan paid off.
I'm going to take out a loan and order one from batfa and ship it to LA. Gonna deal with customs, blah blah blah its my car im takin here sort of thing. We know some people (small town) and we're gonna get dealer/temp tags on it, gonna drive down there, pick it up and bring it out. Gonna find a burnt out s13 with a similar body shape (close enough for us to tweak it around, yes we know its unibody, dad used to work in a bodyshop) and we're gonna swap out everything we can from the skyline onto the s13 (Because it has a vin that we can use) and reg it as an s13 with a body kit. Technically, it's legal. Especially here where there are no yearly inspections. It'll essentially be an s13, but with all skyline parts that we can manage. I've got everything but the money. Including my ride down there.

Re: Skyline Frame...
That is going to be a lot of work, too much work for me, for what you will be getting out of it.
Why not just spend you money on a s13 straight up. The GTSt drive train is not that much better, let alone all that extra work for a GTSt underbody. I am not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to give you an honest opinion.

Re: Skyline Frame...
I know it's going to be a lot of work and some people won't think it's worth it...
but labor's free, my father wants to work on something like this and it'll be fun to do. And why I'm doing it is because while I know the GTS-T and all that aren't that great... I've just always wanted a skyline since middle school. RHD and everything. I've just liked the styling and stigma that came with the car forever... so if I can find put in a good amount of effort instead of giving motorex a lot of money, I'm going to.

Good luck with the project. Way to much work for me to consider.
But I really wish you good luck picking it up. It can't leave the docks unless it's US legal (obviously not the case) or an RI picks it up. And you know what that means...

Re: Skyline Frame...
I know some dealers, and if I can clear the fact that I got it from customs, I can get dealer tags on it... or im just gonna tow it up here.
Either way, im finding a way to get it here.

Re: Skyline Frame...
Indeedy do, that's why I'm gonna take my sweet little time finding an s13 chassis.
But if it means being able to drive it technically legal, I'll do it.

Re: Skyline Frame...
Update...
I came into an offer for serious financial help (friend of mine really wants me to get this car) and he wants to have it by summer of 2005. Im gonna pay off my current loan by then (instead of in 2 years) and take out another one and get it in. More details as they come along

Re: Skyline Frame...
Gtst?
is that a cheaper version of the skyline? like the GTT, GTT are for R34 and Gtst for R32 and R33 ? that's confusing... |
