Re: Another friend dead..(adult content)

i know what its like to see someone you know dead, a couple years ago a very good friend of mine(this girl was about 21 or so and im 17) she changed my diapers when i was little, so i was close with her, just a couple weeks earlier she had a party and i went and she was hella happy lovin life, she was the type of girl who was friends with EVERYONE, i dont think there was a single person that she didnt like. but what happened was she and her two older brothers were on their way home froma party during the winter and the raod was wet and they lost traction on a long left turn and hit a tree, she was in the passenger seat and the whole left side of the car was crushed. she as in the backseat and was badly badly injured(the worst part was i was about 300 feet from the accident WHEN it happened. i was at a friends house and we were outside and heard it happen and ran out to see what was going on, me and my friend who knew her really well too were the first to get to the scene.(scariest thing i have ever seen in my life) and the car as totaled. she was taken out of the car with the jaws of life and taken to the hospital she died the next morning of complications from internal injuries from her seat belt of all things. i thought they were supposed to save lives. her brothers were both injured but both survived. it was the worst accident i have ever seen. just no good if you ask me. i never want anything like this stuff to happen to anyone i know. spyke i feel for you man, i only had a taste of the tragedy that you came to see, i wish you and your friends/family the best of luck in these hard times. i hope it is all ok in the end

Yeah, sorry for the loss..my grandma killed herself last summer. Shot herself in the heart. It was on the day my mom always goes to her house to take her her medications. she was really depressed the last few years. time is the only thing that will help. My mom and aunt tore themselves up about it, if they only spent more time with her and such. they know they really couldnt, theyre real busy usually with work and kids. its just the "well i could have done this" or "what if".

Why is it its so easy to talk about such things here? I have 2 good friends without fathers and weve never said more than a few sentences to one other about that stuff. why is it so hard to talk about it face to face? because we put a name and person to the pain and loss. I used to think of suicide as a cowards way out, someone too cowardly to face the next day, but maybe its the best way out for some..... i just dont know.

Re: Another friend dead..(adult content)

I have to think that the anonymity that we all have here allows us to talk about things that you would never bring up to your "real friends".

Ever since I posted this I have read about a lot of other peoples pain and I somehow feel better if that's the right word?.
It's probably a sad way to look at it but I don't feel as alone as I did even a week ago.

The family has been doing very well all things considered.

Myself, I still think about it everyday. I don't really feel all that guilty.
I know that he made a choice and that nothing that I could do, or not do, would have changed his mind.
That being said I still wonder to myself if I had picked up and went would he still be alive today?

Would I have just delayed it?

Even as I write this I have visions of that scene and it disturbs me.
I know I'll be seeing this for the rest of my life but I hope that over time it will fade and I will see my friend as I want to remember him and not as the lifeless chunk of flesh that wakes me up terrified...

Re: Another friend dead..(adult content)

man that is some scary shit!!
A few months ago my buddy nick called me; pretty much the same thing he just wanted to talk/hang out. I told him I was going to jump in the shower grab somthing to eat and I would be over. After my shower I was headed to the store and on my way back I seen him walkin' down the hill toward his house I pulled over to give him a ride. He jumped in and immediatly I could tell something was wrong. He told me that he had been stting on the train tracks for the past hour but the "fucking train just wouldn't come." It was all over a girlfriend that he had been going out with since high school (five years) and how she had moved in w/ some other guy. A sad story but nothing to kill yourself over. I still have not gotten over the fact that if a train had come or if I hadn't picked him up I may be in the same shoes you are right now! I was pissed off that he would even think about something like that because in 2000 we had a very close friend die in a car accident and he saw the torture we all went through and that was an accident! I just hope everyone who is contemplating suicide will think about all of the hardship they would cause and think twice before doing it.

hey, I might as well get out my story too, I read the thread and started thinking about a similar situation in my life... this was back in may of 2001, but this doesnt involve friends, it involves immediate family. I was a junior in highschool, it was a monday, a day, thankfully, was called early due to a water problem at the school. I would say it was about 10 am, and I walked home. by our old house, was a pole barn that I walked by on the way home. I took no notice initially, but there was something suspicious. when I got in the house, I went to the fridge to get an apple, and I saw a wierd, scribbled note... a suicide note, from my mom. I immediately panicked, and looked all over the house. nothing. then, I went back outside, garage first. nothing. then I went back to the pole barn, and there she was, hanging from the fucking beam... I called 911 from my cellphone, and thank God the ambulance garage was 2 blocks away.... she was dead when they got her down and onto the stretcher, but they somehow managed to get her alive again... they said she was dead for 15 minutes... fuck... I am really surprised that she didnt become a vegetable, and after 3 weeks in the hospital, she was fine... like nothing happened.... except for a scar on her neck from where the noose (sp?) was. I have never been the same since.

as a result of the above trauma, I had to prevent my dad from attempting to end his life as well... as he was hellbent that it was his fault that my mom did what she did.... long story short, I walked in on him slicing his wrists... for fucks sake, he was 45 at the time... thank God he quit that...

thats my rant, if you will....

suicide is NOT the easiest way out... and saying you never meant to hurt anyone is bullshit...
