Re: New Headunit

My Panasonic unit is sweet as hell. It has the MOSFET internal amp which is awesome cause I have my sub hooked up with regular speaker wires just running off the unit and it bumps really good. People are like damn, where's your amp! All my friends are jealous now. :

Re: New Headunit

When I bought the Kenwood 12" sub, it came with a 250 watt amp. Not to powerful but good I guess. It's just I've never really hooked up an amp and'll have to wait till someone can show me. But for now I'm satisfied with the bump that it has.

Re: New Headunit

Its easy, you have your power that goes to the battery +, ground is grouned to the body somewhere, and a remote wire that is ran back to the remote wire on your cd player, RCAs from the head unit to the amp. Then your sub hooks to the speaker output. Set to gain to match your cd player output, set the eq on your cd player and amp and your set to go.

Re: New Headunit

Do you put the power cable end on the battery + connector or what? That's where my problem is.

Re: New Headunit

Hmmmm.... okay. I was told that you had to put it somewhere else than the battery terminal itself or it would fry the amp. It won't fry it, will it?

Re: New Headunit

no, you do need an inline fuse somewhere between the battery and the amp though, all wiring kits come with them.
